Turkish army operation cuts off villagers from outside world
A Turkish military operation against the PKK is going on around Lice.
Military curfew has been imposed on 15 villages.
Woodlands around the villages have been torched.
Residents of areas under curfew say homes and farms have been torched.
Roads are said to have been blocked. No one is allowed to get in or out of the villages.
The only contact is by telephone.
A human rights team visited Lice three days ago.
But the Turkish army prevented them from entering the villages.
According to the Turkish army some 8,000 soldiers are participating in the Lice offensive.
