Dr Jawad Mella's is the most knowledgeable Kurdish historian
Dr Mella does not just write about Kurdish history he has lived through 70 years of Kurdish history
Dr Jawad Mella established the Kurdistan National Congress on 14 April 1985 for a united and free Kurdistan
Sadly, due to ill health, Dr Mella is unable to take a very active part in the campaign for this referendum but he was behind the smaller referendum that took place some years ago
We all wish Dr Mella a speedy recovery and thank you for all your writings and books that show us so much of Kurdish history

Realizing the sovereignty of the Kurdish people in their own historical homeland, to create a state of Kurdistan and to elect democratically the legitimate representatives of the Kurdish people in a Kurdistan National Congress.
Exploiting our national resources specially the oil, for independence and development of Kurdistan.
