Calling Turkey the most Democratic Muslim country, is something that would only come out of a Turk.

Yes, Iraq is the most democratic state in the middle east, and then UAE and Kuwait(even though they are headed by monarchys) Tunis, Palestine(look at their elections).

btw Pling, they already cut off aid to Palestine, that is why Saudi and Qatar gave Palestine 33 million.

TUNISIA?????? ARE YOU OUT OF YOU'RE FUCKING MIND??? This is an insult to all tunisian journalists getting arrested and tortured for their writings!!! Kowait an UAE? coutry where they are wondering if women can drive according to islam??

you're either insane, or an arab nationalist! I work in Human Rights man, so I have a pretty good idea of human right abuses in a lot of countries. Palestine, where you risk you're life if you speak against fanatic islamic parties, tunisia with a president for life, Kuwait ruled by an emir (great!)...

"Most democratic muslim country" is not a super prize, it's just a fact! There are free elections every five years, alternance of political parties, freedom of exression is highly improving, men and women are equal in front of the law, military don't command to the parliament as they used to be...how can yo call democracy a country ruled by americans, unable to ensure security of its own citizens! How can you, if you're really kurdish be proud about Iraq?????? How can you believe that elections make democracy!!!!!!!!

Even stupid french who are against turkey in UE know that Turkey is the most democratic muslim country, it is just a fact! TURKEY NOW in 2006, not turkey of the military coup! I'm not saying this country is a "model" of course, a lot of things have to be done but FUCK! don't compare it with stupid arab countries with elected for life dicators like Ben Ali or Moubarak!!!!!!

turkey has democratic aspects, but it's a pity turks are blinded by their ultranationalism. behind the democratic aspect, there is a fascism reality.

But on the other hand, there are, from Turkish nationalists, some anti-alevi, anti-Christan etc attitude whic are not logical. It is a strange collusion between nationalism and islam, sometimes like this demonstration shows it :

http://www.thenewanatolian.com/tna-339.html

And in nationalist cities like Kayseri (stupid city) or Sivas (horrible), islam is strong too. Or it is less Islam than other religions/people hatred, I don't know. But in any case, impossible to drink a good beer in these places !

Anger raged across the Muslim world against Denmark and Norway with protestors setting ablaze Danish embassies in Syria and Lebanon.

Well a lot of kurdish women being really pretty, I understand why these ones wear hijab

and to demonstrate against stupid caricatures in a country they would not be able to locate on a map, they have to be islamist so they wear hijab. It's only logical.

And they look to be numerous! At least 30!!!!!
