Zurederer...

Heard of Islamist Kurds? Heard of Communist Kurds? Heard of Capitalist Kurds? Heard of Secularist Kurds? Heard of Liberalist Kurds? Do you know any Democrat Kurds?

It isn't a RULE that Kurds vote for DEHAP or HADEP or whatever that party is called now a days...

Kurds vote for their own well-being... They FEAR the Republic of Turkey - so most of the time, they don't wanna vote for Kurdishness... Most of the time, they just wanna SURVIVE...

Gettit? GOOD! :?

I didnot say all kurd give votes for Dehap, but If dehap get less than 10%...

I don't understand your argument, then.

Kâhta is the city at the feet of Nemrud Dagh or C,iyayâ Nemrud and its Kurdish name is Kolik.

That is not sensible, malatya kurds have less reason to fear from turkey, but they vote less for Dehap.

True There are islamis, democratic kurds to, but at least 20% of kurds vote for DTP.

If It is less than 20% of them vote for DTP, why are we wasting so much source for kurdish problem? They were minority of minority. Even majority of kurds dont interest with this ethnic difference, and happy to live at Turkey. :?

so It looks like, There is not a kurdish problem, but PKK problem?

Yes, what's the problem? Let's let all Kurds become Turks. Problem solved.
ON-TOPIC PLZ..

This is just about Kurdish names of cities. I can show you that Meleti was Kurdish in the past. Just go to the villages around Meleti and Xarput... they still speak Kurdish thank god!
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

It is easy, not all kurd vote for DTP, but some kurds. We have no number about Turk-Kurd people. So I am using vote DTP get as a source.

If DTP got 30% from a city, It may become a turkish or kurdish city, If DTP got more than 40% It is absolutely a kurdish city, If dtp got less than 10%, It is absolutely not a kurdish city.(Like malatya or elazıg)

Language is language. It does not mean anything more than a means to communicate. It is an important aspect of culture by its own, it does not mean anything. What is important is self-definitions of person. If someone feels kurdish even if he or she can not speak one word of it, he or she is kurdish. Same applies to all nations.

This is just about Kurdish names of cities. I can show you that Meleti was Kurdish in the past. Just go to the villages around Meleti and Xarput... they still speak Kurdish thank god!

It does not mean anything. I can name you dozens of villages which have a kurdish speaking majority and vote for believe or not MHP.

It isn't a RULE that Kurds vote for DEHAP or HADEP or whatever that party is called now a days...

If you are nationalist kurd who has strong feelings for kurdishness, it is a RULE. otherwise, what is the point of voting?

Why are you changing the topic? We began listing here, cities that originally had Kurdish names. Stay on the topic.

If you really want to, go open another topic regarding your senseless theory about the so-called "Kurdishness" of a city based on your calculations of 30 to 40% DTP vote. I think it is quite funny that you are trying to define "Kurdishness" anyways.

I don't care what you think Zurderer.

Let's continue with this topic. It's about Kurdish names of cities wheter they are Kurdish or not.

A simple fact in the studies of language...

Some names or words are considered "native terms" to a particular language and no longer carry any specific meaning. This may be due to the fact that the name slightly changes over the course of history, or because the name is so old that people simply forgot what it means. This happens in every language.

Very true... But we can give them meaning:

Meletî - first thing popping up in my head is "Mele" - which means "Mullah" in Kurdish... So if this was a city where a Mullah had great influence back in time - the name could have derived as a result of people refering to it as "Mullahcracy" - or "Mullah-rule"...

Xar and Pût are two words in Kurdish, "crocked" and "empty" respectively... Don't know enough about Xarpût to make a theory about it, though... Perhaps it is in such a geographical location that it was built on an unfertile mountain side?

Dunno... Theories are fun, though...

Even when they are just theories and not truth... :)
