I want to read some of Mr Kurdi's books.. I never heard of Kurds like this... Looks more like an secret agent or some strange alien.

Also I want to know the name of the Anthrologist u wrote about.
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

Kurds vs. Persians

PostAuthor: Heja » Sat Aug 27, 2005 3:34 am

"Kurdi" is wrong because although persians and kurds may have some distant shared cultural heritage,
but he ignores the fact that what makes a group of people feel like a nation, is a shared sense of "Pain" and "destiny"
and "struggle" for freedom, not propaganda for a state that is famous in oppressing non-persian people.

Kurdish Culture is about freedom, while persian culture is all about imposing their will on other people.

The real reason why kurds in iran ( significant majority of them ) feel separate than ruling persians, is the "different historical experience".

One example: Persians proudly study the history of "Safavid" Empire, and its main figures "Shah Abbas" and "Shah Esmaeil". While on the contrary, these two figures are hated among all kurds. For what? very simple,
since they tried to destroy kurdish land, culture and way of life. They destroyed independent kurdish "Emirates" like "Ardalan", "Mukriyan". When kurds resisted, guess what they did?, just like saddam, they resoted to genocide, forced relocations, mass deportations, and so on.

Mahabad is famous not just because of Qazi Muahammad, but their struggle for freedom goes back to Safavid period.

(Qelay Dimdim): which is the folkloric story of a kurdish prince resisting safavid shah, is a very famous piece of literature among kurds. It dates back to 500 years ago, and is still read by kurds in iran.

Sure, you and your uncle would like me to show some evidence, that's straight forward, more than one million kurds who are the descendents of exiled kurds, in Khurasan. (or north khurasan province).

No kurd, would ever forget this historical crime. If you look at the map of the kurdish inhabited regions in iran, you can easily spot several remote areas from eastern kurdistan(i.e. west iran), like Some Villages in Gilan, Some areas in Mazandaran, Some areas in Baluchistan, Khurasan, even in today's Pakistan ( then part of Safavid empire).

So I ask a simple question: If this hasnot been the result of forced relocation, why we don'e see scattered persian people in remote areas of iran ?!!! Why you cannot find a single persian away from their historical
places.

My friend, the reason why kurds don't accept to be iranian, is a very old story and you cannot change history
by propaganda.

In order to update your knowledge about kurdish miseries in iran, I recommend you and your uncle to read the material
in the following link:

A map of kurdish Areas of middle east,

http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/middle_e ... ish_86.jpg (

Look at the big concentartion in north of khurasan (Mash'had)
and smaller ones around gilan and mazandaran in north)
( due to deportations)

Kurdi writes:

Cheryl, I am an Iranian and damn proud of it, you are a stupid kurd and I know you are from Turkey.

aha! i have never had such a lovely compliment, as to be called "a stupid kurd" and from turkey, no less! bijîn bakurî! bijî PKK! bijî HPG! bijî PJAK!

i love kurds and i especially love "stupid kurds" from turkey!!!!

see, you are a good iranian, telling BIG lies about how there is no ethnic racism in iran--after which you immediately state that racism exists among all other peoples. . . but not among iranians? that is a very contradictory statement, but i am not really interested in how you would try to manage a twisted explanation to justify your iranian-inspired racism.

what you write is exactly the same thing that a goddamned kemalist would write. i have witnessed it too many times and the lame arguments you present must have been written by the MGK . . . or maybe by all of those happy @sses from some turk ocagi group.

"there is NO racism in turkey! kurds have been presidents and in parliament! everyone is equal! it was only bad governments of the past that have caused problems, but now it is all a sweet, blue heaven, there is NO oppression. . . " this is what you are saying and this is the exact same thing kemalists say. there is no difference between you and the sons (and daughters--remember tansu çiller???) of your very own beloved atatürk.

everything is political. no bellydancing your way around with excuses.

i also happen to know how you iranians treat your jewish population. are you going to tell me that that persecution isn't "racially" based? so you should be very careful here because i may have a bone to pick with you over that too. after all, since you support oppression of rojhelatî then you must also support oppression of jews. REMEMBER OSIRAK!!

in addition, all of your posts sound like you are engaging in some massive self-delusion and psychological projection.

definition of chauvenism: chauvenism = the enemies of kurdistan.

The good old days...

Isn't it hard to be a Kurd.. you have to be brothers of Iranians, Turks, and Arabs..

Maryam Ibrahimpour (she is Arsalan's wife) is a iranian. Najme Tajed (??) is a iranian as well, (she is Bijan's wife). The new lady who sings with the Kamkars who performed in Norway two years ago when Shirin Ebadi won the nobel peace price is Sabah Kamkar, she is the daughter of Hooshang Kamkar.

@Kurdistani:
The Kamkars make Kurdish music as long as I can remember, even in a time that Kurdish artist were not appricited in our culture, so I think it is very disrespectfull to say that they sing in Kurdish just beacuse of the money.
