Democratic parties of Armenia and Kurdistan (Iraq) established cooperation
1/31/2006 Regnum
Democratic Party of Armenia and Democratic Party of Kurdistan (Iraq) signed a Protocol on cooperation, as a REGNUM correspondent has been informed by head of Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA) Aram Sarkisyan.

According to the head of DPA, on September 2005, in Moscow, he met plenipotentiary of Kurdistan regional government in the CIS, representative of Democratic Party of Kurdistan (DPK) in CIS Khoshvi Babakra. The sides informed each over on situation in Armenia, Iraq and Kurdistan, exchanged opinion on processes on Middle East and Caucasus. Both sided expressed interest in development of cooperation between DPA and DPK, and noted traditionally good relations between the Armenian and Kurd nations.

The sides agreed to systematically inform each other on the questions of regional policy, conduct periodical meeting of the parties’ representatives for consultations and organize a trip of DPK representatives in Armenia and DPA representatives to Kurdistan. The parties plan to strengthen cultural and press relations between Armenia and Kurdistan, and establish relations between the Kurd Diaspora in Armenia with Kurdistan.

Well sure, they might have. However, the new development is that they have set up an official alliance between Kurdistan and Armenia, which will include periodical meetings and interests in each of the government's policies. This seems like much more than a simple verbal agreement:

The sides agreed to systematically inform each other on the questions of regional policy, conduct periodical meeting of the parties’ representatives for consultations and organize a trip of DPK representatives in Armenia and DPA representatives to Kurdistan...

Well then there will be interests for both since many Kurds live in Armenia. Aside from the fact that we Kurds share ancestoral backgrounds with Armenians and the cultures are so closely related, it is only natural that the two nations strengthen their ties because of their common political interests in these regions of the world.

Actually he is right, armenia occupied azeri's territory against every internatonal law, the commit ethnic cleanising for hundred of thousands of peope, azeris are oppressed in armenia's society (and armenians in azeri society as well). And Armenian nationalist would like to annex Half of Turkey, or to put it in another way 3/4 of north kurdistan :)

Iran - Turkey, Armenia
Armenia - Kurdistan (KDP/KRG)

Ehh..
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

necessity of alliance with Armenians

PostAuthor: shino » Wed Feb 01, 2006 12:23 pm

azeriactivist wrote:Before making contacts with Armenia there are some basic things to be known. First of all, current Armenian government is a rogue state which holds parts of Azerbaijan and has killed hundreds of thousands of Azeris and ethnically cleansed the lands it has occupied.

Secondly, it has claims on parts of kurdish lands, too. And, lastly it is the most pro-iranian government in the region. In order to squeeze our Azeris and occupy our land by all means, it has been using all instruments possible.

It is a shame for kurds to contacts with such kınd of a regime. Especially for a people who has been oppressed by so long. Shame on YOU!

Azerbaidjan has also relationships with Turkey, Iran..., and these regimes also opress the Kurds, but do you blame the azeri government for that?
The Kurds of Irak are in a particular situation, they are not an independant state, they are in a hostile environement, so they try to acquire aknowledgment, to be accepted. We haven't got a lot's of friends in the region, when a state propose a friendly relationship, the Kurds must accept.
Don't forget, Armenia is the only state which gives cultural rights to the kurdish minority, for that we like them.
The foes of Kurds are not those of Azeris
