war of a country with its own ppl ?
even if it was war between to countries, still , medias would give a SHIT that 14 young humans were killed .
look at palestine , wouldnt medias cover it if 14 paletsitians (let say 14 terorrists) were killed ?
but no media even wants say in Turkey ppl are being killed.
I hate medias so much .

war of a country with its own ppl ?
well, if it is a war for independance, or at least between 2 people, they are not the same people, and a war is always made up with dead.
But you're right concerning the indifference of the world. Sometimes, Turkish soldiers are killed, and media don't talk a lot about that, or PKK die, and it does not made a great noise, also. And I agree that media talk too much about Palestinian conflict which is not so essential for the rest of the world.
In any case, 14 dead in a war are not much. How many ppl died in one day during Iran/Iraq war ?

Protests have been met with violence by Turkish security and 3 people were killed and 250 injured. Baydemir (mayor of Diyarbakir) came to calm the crowds yesterday and was attacked by special units.

Well, if somebody came and burns down my shop just because I declined to take part in their demonstrations or tries to get money from me in the name of "TAX" then I can really say that this is a BLACK issue and it is.
Fighting for kurdish cultural rights is something but terrorizing people in the name of kurds is awful. PKK is trying to incite hatred between kurds and turks living in Turkey as neighbors and I do not want the name kurds to be equated with PKK-fan.

PKK wants ware to break out again at any price. They feel they're losing control on the society, this is why they broke and burnt the shops of people refusing to support these riots.
This is a nihilist strategy, they have no other option than war to prove they still exist. A democratic resolution of the problem would be a catastrophy for them, so they try to undermine it by any mean.
I've been telling that since the breaking up of the ceasefire in june 2004, so maybe I'm the only one not to be surprised...

Forget about your emotions towards the PKK. The fact of the matter here is that the Turkish "security" forces have attacked civilians and now went as far as harrassing Osman Baydemir, an elected official in Turkey, who arrived at the scene to call for PEACE. You can blame one side all you want, but you seem to missing the point that the Turkish security who should be the responsible ones in this matter are attacking people by attempting to disperse crowds using live ammunition. This resulted in 3 deaths already and you have to expect that this will create more tension, and as a result violence, in the crowds.

To be honest, I do not believe that riot police would behave in such a bad manner towards Osman Baydemir or rioters. I have watched it and asked it to a couple of my frineds who are from Diyarbakır they say the opposite of that. Rioters started burning down shops, throwing petrol bombs, burning vehicles, trying to start a SERHILDAN which is the kurdish word for Intifada etc. In such case, to be honest, I would not put the blame on the security forces. I am sure that, if a similar event took place in an European country or US, I am sure there would be scores of deaths.

I don't like the PKK... But I don't like your one-sided way of thinking either...
Heval is right. You missed the point. 3 people are dead. A 6 year old Kurdish boy is dead. He did not burn a vehicle or start a serhildan...
Protests escalate, more deaths today in Amed
3/30/2006 KurdishMedia.com
New York (KurdishMedia.com) 30 March 2006: Yesterday in Amed (Diyarbakir), northern Kurdistan, 3 people were killed as thousands or protestors clashed with Turkish security forces. Following the funerals of a number of the 14 PKK fighters killed in recent clashes with Turkish soldiers, mourners clashed with police and took out their anger on government buildings and banks.
Today the protests are continuing, and sources in Amed indicate that approximately 100,000 people are protesting today in all parts of the city, chanting slogans in favor of the PKK and imprisoned Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan as well as slogans praising recent martyrs and calling for freedom. 3 additional deaths have been reported today, including the death of a 6 year old. Police and military presence is being increased in Amed. In response to the clashes, police from Mardin, Batman, Urfa, and Adiyaman have arrived in Amed. The number of armored vehicles deployed in the streets of the city has also increased.
Protests have been reported in other parts of northern Kurdistan, including Batman, Siirt, Mardin, Kiziltepe, and Nusaybin. While some have been wounded outside of Amed, no deaths have been reported. 4 wounded were transported from Batman to the Amed hospital, and 1 wounded was transported to Amed hospital from Siirt.

Serhildan isn't the Kurdish word for "intifada" I suggest you start thinking in Kurdish instead of Turkish...
Stop believing everything you read in Aksam, Sabah and other crappy Turkish newspapers...
Long live Kurds!
