The Kurdish Peshmerga have been at the forefront of the fight against ISIS but because Kurdistan is not yet an in dependent country other countries have been unable - due to international legal requirements - to offer a great deal of financial or weaponry support to the Kurdish region

Should the Iraqi government attempt to invade/reclaim the Kurdish region, because Kurdistan is not yet an in dependent country other countries will be unable - due to international legal requirements - to offer a great deal of support to protect the borders of the Kurdish region

Red - Symbolizes the blood of the martyrs and the continued struggle for freedom and dignity

White - Represent peace and equality

Green - Expresses the beauty and landscapes of Kurdistan. Life and vitality

Yellow - Represents the source of life and light of the people. The sun is an ancient symbol and twenty one sunbeams represent March 21, Newroz.

76% of turn out is not a bad result, thanks to all the fuss Western countries and UN made about the referendum, it might have decided 6% of hesitating/reluctant people.

Now Iran closed our sky, Turkey closed our roads and Bagdad wants to attack.

But Rojava stands with KRG. So ennemies could help to unify Peshmergas and PKK/YPG riposte if an army attack.

Let us hope that they ALL voted YES

I think the PKK are looking for a way forward and many Kurds in other countries support an independent Kurdistan - probably hoping that one day their chance of independence will come
