لربما نتفاجئ نحن العراقيين اذا ماعلمنا ان مملكة النعمان ابن المنذر في الحيرة والنابغة الذبياني الذي شعره فاق وترفع على المعلقات ومعلقيها، والنجف وكربلاء وميسان واربيل وكركوك ودهوك ونينوى هي مخلفات الحضارة الاشورية العظيمة التي امتدت الى كل مشارق الارض ومغاربها هذا الشعب العراقي العظيم الذي مازال اهلنا في الجنوب والشمال العراقي يتخاطب بمئات الكلمات الاشورية العراقية في حديثهم وخطابهم اليومي، هذا الشعب البابلي الاكدي السومري العظيم الذي مازال ورغم جور الزمان وقمعه مازال صابرا شامخا ابيا، نزلت على اهلنا الاشوريين من المصائب والكوارث مالم تنزل علينا نحن الشيعة الذين ندعي الظلم والمظلومية في تاريخنا الاسلامي القديم او الملكي والجمهوري الحديث، دفع الاشوريون ثمنا باهضا بسبب تمسكهم بدينهم المسيحي المسالم الذي بشر به سيدنا المسيح عليه السلام لانقاذ البشرية من الظلم والفساد الرابض على جسد البشرية انذاك، فعند دخول الفتح الاسلامي الى العراق فرضت عليهم الجزية وهم ابناء الوطن واصله، وعندما استتب الامر لمن يدعي الاسلام بدا القمع والارهاب مسلطا عليهم من احفاد تيمور لنك - يذكر المؤرخ الكردي الامير شرف خان البدليسي ان الاكراد قدموا الى المنطقة مع الطاغية تيمور لنك المغولي - ففي منتصف القرن التاسع عشر الميلادي قام السفاح والقائد الكردي بدرخان بقتل عشرات الالاف من الاطفال والنساء من الشعب الاشوري ويذكر ان بدرخان كان يتلذذ بقتل الاطفال ..اذ انه كان يرميهم من مرتفعات الجبال لينزلوا على اسنة الرماح والسيوف.. ويستمر الوضع المأساوي لشعبنا الاشوري الى مجازر الحرب العالمية الاولى التي ذهب ضحيتها ثلثا الشعب الاشوري من ضمنها اغتيال الزعيم البطريرك ماربنيامين شمعون غدرا على يد اسماعيل سيمكو زعيم قبائل الشيكاك الكردية وتستمر ماساة وفاجعة الاشوريين الى التعاطف العالمي معهم وصدور قرار من المنظمات الدولية في 15- 12- 1932 والمرقم 69 والذي ينص على الحكم الذاتي للشعب الاشوري، لم يحصل الشعب الاشوري على حقوقه لا بهذا القرار ولا بغيره، بل ان الارهاب اخذ بالتزايد عليهم، فمن جانب النظام البعثي الساقط وارهابه وقمعه لهم الى التسلط الكردي القائم على الكيان والارض الاشورية.
