I read an article in National Public Radio , about mam jalal, titled

somewhere in the article it mentioned KDP was founded in 1946 by barzani , I think the writer has Mistakenly mentioned the date of fouudnation of Iranian KDP (Qazi's KDP)

does anybody know the date of the foudnation of KDP by barzani ?

I was under the impression that KDP and KDPI both came from that party which was established in 1946...

KDP was foundet in 1946 under the leadership of Mustafa Barzani

But in that time there was already an existing party: "Komaley Jîyanewey Kurd". It was renamed to KDP-Iran in 1946 or 1945. Am I wrong? I'm not 100% sure.

Yes... That's what I thought too... I thought that both were from the same establishment: Republic of Kurdistan (Mihabad) - and that when it fell, that KDP (as it was established by Mella Mustefa Barzanî & Qazî Muhemed split into "Kurdistan Democratic Party" and "Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran"?

the KDP-IRAN (KDP of qazi) was also founded in 1946 , and you are right, before that their name was JK .

when KDP-IRAN annoucned independence , Barzani peshmergas came to East Kurdistan and he became a genenral for Peshmerga army of the Kurdistan (Mahabad) Republic.

I wonder after republic's being invaded , KDP -IRAQ was founded ...or it was founded even before KDP-IRAN?

i am very sure that KDP (IRAQ) was founded before the invasion of the mihabad. so bouth in 1946, i dont know which one was first, but qazi's partys was as we said already existing as KJK.

In 1946 he and other Kurds founded the KDP and was elected its President.
He was President of the Party from that time until his death 1979.
