Kongra Gel (PKK) asked Massud Barzani to support Kurds of other parts of Kurdistan
The head of Kongra Gel , in a congratulation message to Massud Barzani for being elected as Kurdistan Regional Government’s President, asked him to take in consideration the other three parts of Kurdistan namely in Turkey, Syria and Iran and to support the Kurds there.

According to the Mesopotamia News Agency, Zobeyr Aydar the head of Kongra Gel alongside with congratulations and expressions of his happiness for election of Mr. Barzani as president of Kurdistan Regional Government repeated his support for Federalism for Kurdistan and its president.
Aydar found this election as symbol of a great change in the Kurd’s conflict in the world and said “we find this as a step to solve the Kurdish problem in the Middle East, namely to reach a state of self-determination”

Aydar also mentioned that though it is true that Southern Kurdistan has become a semi-safe region, in the other parts of Kurdistan (North , East , West) conditions are still like before.
This post – President of Kurdistan Regional Government – is followed by a great responsibility for Mr. Barzani. He must take in consideration the conditions of Kurds in other parts of Kurdistan and supporting their movement.
And finally he asked of Mr. Barzani to host a National Conferance to discusse and try finding a solution to the Kurdish problem in the Middle East


its a good thing that pkk shows that they support massud hope they will work together and that massud will support pkk what ya guys think?

The PKK is to divided to be a real political forces at the moment..
Ocalan agrued that those struggling fro independence were 'primitive nationalists' and PAJK (the PKK wing in turkey suffered a major split becasue many of its members were fed up of being used by the PKK as leverage against Iranian government...)
All kurdish parties have black histories.... but the PKK is not demanding national rights... It is demanding a 'Democratic Republic'....
The PKK even commanders nowadays are getting sick of Apos statements in favour of Turkey.....
Plus... PKK took money form Syria just like KDP and PUK which took money for Iran and Komala and KDPI that took money from Iraq....

Don't have illusions in the PKK.....

Prejudice - I tell you... Thats all it is... They are all the same... But we must judge them for what they do TODAY - not what they have done before - it is for THEM to learn from their earlier mistakes... We must only support them and let them know when we disagree with what they are doing... Like APO saying "I love Turkey" and such things - this we must make clear that we do NOT support...

Ok, I dont get it when Diri and the rest of you guys say,"we must support them, and speak when they are wrong." First Democarcy means that you have the right to not support them. I know what you mean by saying we need to support them so that we seem united. But this has been going on forever, its just that people show, that we dont support you unless you shape up, that will have true effects on their policies. Not this "oh you shouldnt do that, that is bad for the kurdish nation" but still wholeheartedly support them. That has been going on forever. Why are so many of you afraid of change. I promise you, that even if kdp and puk suddenly vanished tommarrow, the kurdish struggle would not die.

I understand what you are saying Pesh17...It really is a fine balance. No party and no people will change if someone meekly criticizes but says, "i'm behind you 100% no matter what". What I was referring to, and which may be an unattainable position, is publically being critical of the policies of a party leader or a party but encouraging them when they do good things. For example, I was not a big supporter of the KDP during the early 90s when they were collaborating with the Turkish state. In the year 2005, I do not look at Massoud Barzani from the same lens of the 90s and I am now wholeheartedly behind his efforts in Southern Kurdistan. It is really knowing when to support and when to pull back that support and criticize.

For the past 5 years, I have denounced Apo's policies and PKK's insistence on following the directions of the Turkish General Staff but if and when the day comes that they turn a different direction, I will support them too.

I know that I am responding to this topic weeks late but you must forgive me since I just came back. However, this piece of news was one that stood out to me. I agree with you as well. One of the worst things is when people decide to choose one political party and stick to them regardless of whether their direction is the right one. For instance, some PKK supporters refuse to support any of PDK's efforts ever again because they worked with Turkey in the early 90s, and there are plenty of other examples. This kind of mentality is what truly causes divisions among our people. When asked if I support this or that, I say I support whomever and whatever party is working towards the Kurdish cause, for the people and for Kurdistan. "It is really knowing when to support and when to pull back that support and criticize." - Well said.
