hmmm...

The Yêzdî aren't immitating the Arabs - why do that when the Arabs prosecuted them? The thing is that Yêzdî fashion is ONE of a THOUSAND ways Kurds clothe themselves... You won't find Kurdish girls wearing knee high skirts untill you go to the Jelali tribe in the North East - Makû and Agrî - and you won't find the men wearing skirts unless you go to Lalesh ;) Sounds very nice to me... skirts are cool:D

They may be wearing ARAB clothes - but KURDS wear skirts too... I am not sure about the clothes THEY were wearing Roller - I saw that program too... And the HATS were Kurdish - but the rest of the outfit I am not sure about except the false "hair locks" that were black hanging from their hats - they were Kurdish too...

I will not argument as if am 100 % sure about THEIR clothes - but I DO know that we DO have skirts for men too... You people would be AMAZED at how MANY different fashions Kurds follow... ;)

Are you talking about the HIGH hats with turbans wraped around the bottom? They are called "KOLOZ"... And are made of baby goats hair... yes hair - goats don't have wool... :P

I know this because my parents tell me such things... And you can always expect the truth from someone who has been there back in the days and seen with their own eyes what has been and what is now - today they can tell me -"This is Kurdish, this and that is Arabic and that is Persian"... They have the experience...

Kurdish culture is SO rich of colors, clothes, dances, music, words, arts, hand crafts and MUCH more - you would really be amazed (like me) if you sat and listened to your parents for a few minutes.., they know such thing that have long been forgotten and put into the box called "old and out of fashion"...

The Koloz is a LOOOONG hat it is pointy and usually is in the colors - black, white and different shades of gray and brown... They wrap a scarf around the bottom of the Koloz where it meets the head...

That is why I wanna be a designer - Kurdish fashion is SO rich... and also the attention given the designer is quite adorable... :D

not all ezedis are wearing the drees and agal, but some do. we have to ask our selvs why ??

we were upressing them in the past and so were the sunni arabs . the areas nearest to arabs adopted that costum cuz they wanted to live and not get illed by arabs and stupid musilm kurds in the past .

That is a beautifull butterfly :D

Only one question - do you want the writing to say "Our homeland is a garden" ("Welatê Me Gulistane") or do you want it to read "Our homeland garden" "Welatê Me Gulistan"... I have a feeling you meant tha first one ;)

The Yêzidî are ANCIENT KURDS... They are our orginal version - we who have converted to Islam, Christianity, Judaism etc. are not what the Kurds were some thousand years back... The majority of Kurds converted to Islam in the 8th century... So there has been developed a new Kurdish identity for these... They have their own school of Islam "Shafe'i" (Orthodox Islam) and they have combined Islamic traditions with the Kurdish ones... And also with their ancient Êzdî traditions...

So the clothes that the Êzdî people are wearing are THEIRS... the ARABS stole from them if any at all...

diri what are you taking about? Shafi is one of the four sunni schools of islam, egypt, yemen, indonesia, follow it it, its the second largest school in islam, kurds in and around kirkuk also follow hanefee which is also a large sunni school.

when i comes to yezdi being the "original kurds" i dont belive that at all, the real kurds dont use arabic as there frist lanuage and wear arab skirts. diri you must remember nobody was muslim at frist, the arabs were pagans, like wise with everyone else at that time, people move on to better things in life, just like the jews to christians, pagans to muslims.

Like JEWS TO CHRISTIANS??? First of all the JEWS are more muslim than will christians ever be... You are offending the Jewish friends we have at this forum! And me too! The Jews and Muslims have more in common! They both circumsize - they are prohibited to eat porch... and MANY more things... The Christians call God "three" (Estafulla) and believe Jesus can save them... so what is it that is it that is BETTER with the Chrsitians than the Jews???

And second: where the hell did you find Êzdîz who have ARABIC AS THEIR FIRST LANGUAGE??? Have you read ANYthing at all about the êzidî or are you just guessing?

THE Yêzdî ONLY USE KURDISH IN ALL THEIR RELIGIOUS CEREMONIES
THEY PRAY IN KURDISH
THEY SING HUMNS IN KURDISH...

and AS FOR THE ZERDESHTÎ - THEY USE THE GORANÎ DIALECT OF KURDISH FOR ALL THEIR "GATHAS" - WHICH ARE SONGS TO PRAIS GOD!

I don't know where you got your information from...

brother diri, i am not offending jews at all. All i am saying is that there are no such thing as orignial religons, the arabs, kurds, persians, excc. were not always muslims, but they embraced islam. Thats all i am trying to say, why dont you respond to the private message i just sent you.
