I KNOW you don't read Norwegian - but just have a lok at this article...

It is bout Naze Ezizi who faces honour killin - because she SINGS and WRITES POEMS! She is a Kurdish artist whos work is published very widely in Eastern Kurdistan and also her music is broadcast on Kurdish TV...

Naze was summoned to the Security Jurisdictionary to when she went to Mehabad - there she was told that she was prohibited to sing and that "we don't like women singing - the punishment for people like you is death - on honour."

One of the Security Servants asked her why her music was played on Kurdish TV - and tried to make her blame the Kurdish channels for playing muslim womens songs... But she wouldn't let her people down and said "- Jeg vil ikke svikte dem og jeg takker dem for at de spiller sangene mine." - "I will not let them down and I thank them for playing my songs"

She was given a fine of about 35 pounds... And she was told that if she kept on singing and writing poems she would be sentenced to death - for honour...

This is the perverted situation of Kurdish women - who are accepted in Kurdish society as singers and officials etc. - but who have no place in the Islamic Republic of Iran...

MERG BER JUMHURIYE ISLAMIYE IRAN!

Mosul - NO - It is Norwegian... And you are not supposed to be able to read that... I quoted a part in the article... And the translation is written right next to it...

Dyaoko - Why? This is a "different" issue---> We are talking about honour killing from the state of Iran - and not by family members... And Mosul - you must have very bad english knowledge - because if you read what i wrote you will find that this isn't a "family honour" killing... This is IRAN saying they will kill her... HER FAMILY SUPPORTS HER DAMN IT! And NO it has NOTHING to do with Kurdish culture----> there are no rules or norms in Kurdish culture saying "Kill a girl when you think she steps on your honour"... Go to the other thread if you wanna talk about "family honour" killings... This is a distinct case where a WOMAN stands up and says "F**K IRAN - I AM A KURD AND I WILL SING MY SONGS"...

Please try to see the difference---> It shouldn't bee too hard... Let me give you a hint - Naze WILL BE KILLED BECAUSE OF HER KURDISH BLOOD AND BECAUSE SHE PROMOTES IT!

English version of the news:

Kurdish woman singer threatened with “honour killing” in Iran

http://www.dozame.org/article.php?story ... 4151112335

(The Dagbladet.no has apparently taken the news from there, as they have given credit to DozaMe.org for the photo.)

Thanks for the English version... And - perhaps BErxwedan.. But nothing is for sure - as it is extremely unlikely... Because Norwegian news agencies are VERY critical anb have a selected few sources they use... They have obviously used your picture, but Dagbladet is the second most sold newspaper in Norway and they tend to report news after they are published in English news papers... But this is VERY off topic...

But what do people think? I mean - THIS is the time for a SERHILDAN - now they have the support and attention of the world... With all the demonstrations and killing in East Kurdistan people are giving special attention- specially the US... And after the London bombing... Wow... We have it made - now if a WOMAN is prohibited from writing poems... That is the drop that will save them all...

If her family supports her as she is threatening by Iranian state for writing, is it really a "honour killing" ? Semms to be a tricky term used by fanatocs to condem freedom of expression.

No you see - it is "islamic" honour... It isn't about family - she is fully supported by her family - of course they wouldn't want to kill her for singing...

The sick thing is how the IRI uses traditional terms and cultural expressions to justify it's actions... "The honour" of Iran is at stake you see... (As if it's honour wasn't raped in 1979 already  ).

"islamic honour" ? aw yeah I see... forbiden to sing for a woman ? well these ignorant mullah should be logical : they should condem all the musicians, men and women, because music is a "bad" thing in islam (I forget if it is in Coran or in hadith).

It isn't in the Quran... Some ugly bearded men sat down and wrote "Music is a sin" in one of those "I was there and saw it" stories they write... And that is TOTALLY against the teachings of the Holy Quran...

The Quran is the word of God - and the Quran says "TAKE NO OTHER LAW, BUT MY LAW!!"

And I don't think that God is deaf. So why wouldn't it like music ? May be He said : IF YOUR VOICE IS AWFULL SHUT UP OR GO TO HELL.

but not for everybody, then.

If you check our news, you will see that our source is Sherko Mahabadi who works for the Kurdish news agency MHA. MHA was the first agency to come out with that news (duh, because it belongs to them). They published it in Kurdish and Turkish. We were the first one to publish it in English.

Where did "Dagbladet" take that news? Which "English newspapers" did that news come from? It wasn't an "English newspaper", but the Kurdish news provider DozaMe.org which publishes English news on the Kurdish issue. We always wondered why we got so many hits directed from "DozaMe.org" that day (we had something like 2,000 unique hits from Norway), and it turns out that it was thanks to the Dagbladet news. :)

And why would it be "unlikely"? Because YOU see us as "unprofessional" just because we are "Apo-lovers"? We've had e-mail correspondences with more prominent newspapers than "Dagbladet" (and it wasn't us taking contact with the journalists but they contacted us). One is the Times Online (The Times and The Sunday Times in UK).

You see, we are a good source, our language is professional and people take us seriously. Our news are discussed on many blogs.

While "Piling" decided to bash the "Turkish" in the news about the HPG seminaries, a prominent analyst called John Robb analyzed that news completely different.

http://globalguerrillas.typepad.com/about.html

"John is a highly regarded analyst and speaker, with a focus on the intersection of terrorism, infrastructure, and markets. In this capacity, he has briefed Silicon Valley's technology elite and many of the top hedge fund managers in the world. Audience reactions have been spectacular."

Everybody doesn't live in a cocoon like you Diri. Face it.

Those are YOUR words my friend... And I disagree with them
