Great new tactic from dear PKK...they call for a cease fire, and their new thing is "free ocalan" demonstation, nowing perfectly that it will create repression from the security forces. One in Gemlik, one in Siirt...I can't believe some kurds are dumb enough to follow those orders!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And you think that repression is justified?

Of course not, repression is not justified, but repression is the aim of PKK. They want turkish state to repress the kurds as it did in the 1990's.
The problem with democratization is that when it happens kurds don't want to follow PKK anymore! they don't have to chose between PKK and State, so they can try to have a normal life.
PKK does not want that, neither does far wingers in turkish army. So basically Pro-Ocalan demonstrations are good for PKK AND turkish nationalists

For Turks: Demonstation for öcalan = "look what they do, turkey is threatened, let's stop perverted democratization and defend our holy republic"

For PKK: repression of demonstrators = "the fascist turkish state is oppressing the kurds, come on guys join us and let's die for president Apo"

everybody is happy....except Kurds!

Thats not the point....
But Kurds should know how the Turkish state operates.....
They are just playing in to the hands of the Turkish Military...

When Israel wants to solve the palestinian problem, there is always some stupid arab to put a bomb in a bus or in a restaurant. Same idea.

If you think PKK wants democracy and human rights for kurds, you did not understand the story...

I believe they do. In any case Öcalan does. For Karayilan I don't know but it seems obvious. :

If Karayilan who lives between germany and nederland has not been expelled to Turkey, while some other less important PKK members are threatened to that (Nusriye Kesbir for example), I guess that Karayilan is so much useful as Öcalan for MIT...

never heard of a serious official asking of extradition from Turkey concerning Karaliyan... strange isn't it ?

You know Ocalan may not have been with MIT himself... but I am sure some of his senior men were MIT.... in particular those Turkish leftists thinkers that 'supported' PKK......

Of course even in Syria he had had some "contacts" wit the MIT but it was not the problem. In a conflict you should get in touch with your enemy in the background, while war is going on... But Öcalan has for unique aim and care his own safety, so the MIT did constantly remind him what he could do or not, if he did want to safe his life (for example he did not attack Western Turkey, only Kurdish land, because the MIT has threatened him to send a missile on Damascus on his house and he believed it).

Of course there were some MIT in his staff before 1999 and he did know and much people knew it. But as he worried more of his personnal power, and as he is megalomaniac, he was always persuaded that Turkey wanted to negociate with him, and considered him as a serious leader. But he is coward too (but sincere) : in an interview given in Syria in 1995, he already stated that if he were taken by Turks he would collaborate. Now if some Kurds continue to follow him, this is their choice.
