perhaps in english the last part is best rendered: "you are my heart and soul."
it's not that i have anything against livers, mind you. i'm all for them. they just don't translate poetically into english.

But you must switch out two words - it should be "You are our uncle, you are our father, you are our heart and liver"... But I am still impressed...A LOT!

Actually Kak Diri, in Hewraman, we use Lal or Lalo to describe an uncle on mothers side... (Xal is actually Arabic.)

Diri wrote:
Well... Lal, where I come from means "dumb" - as in he/she can't speak...
Xal may be Arabic, though... As it is a Semitic word...
But that is the word we use - and I have never heard of any other word for it - not "Lal" or "Lalo" (which then would be a more "buddy-ish" name)...
Are there more names that others or my brother, Heval disagree with?

It isn't "ape" - it is "ap" - and it is a Northern Kurdish expression...![]()

"Mam" û "Ap" = uncle on fathers side...
"Xal" = uncle on mothers side...
"Met" = aunt on fathers side...
"Xaltîk" û "Xaltê" = aunt on mothers side...
"Pismam"/"Kurmam" = uncles son on fathers side...
"Dotmam"/"Kichmam" = uncles daughter on fathers side...
"Kurxal" = uncles son on mothers side...
"Kichxal" = uncles daughter on mothers side...
"Birazî" = "nephew" for the fathers brother/sister...
"Xarzî" = nephew for the mothers brother/sister...
