Their website is in English and tells about the Kurdish people and their struggle for freedom. There are several
other videos on the site that talk about the many economic opportunities and highlight the many economic developments that are happening in Kurdistan.
This is a fantastic thing for the Kurdish people. The website is very optimistic and that is very important. The optimism makes the Kurdish people look forthright, strong, brave and deserving of important investment capital to fund the future of the Kurdish people. What I like most about the site is that it isn't a "begging" site like what the Palestinians always do, trying to come off as "victims", making the West feel that they should be given money. Instead, this Kurdish site talks to the world as "equals" and approach the people of the West with opportunities in which they may choose to participate. The key word here is "choose." Voluntary investment in Kurdistan will be better invested than any kind of government social program.
Instead of asking for handouts, the Kurds are talking about creating a society that respects property rights and the rule of law, which is very important in attracting badly needed investment capital. The Kurds have a large labor force that needs investment capital to unlock its productivity. With new investment capital, the Kurds will achieve rising wages, productivity and new technology to help them communicate better with the outside world.
It is always important to make sure that your country is open to investment from other nations. Many socialists are opposed to foreign investment because they think it is selling the country. They are wrong. What happens when foreigners invest in your country is that you BUILD A BETTER, MORE PROSPEROUS COUNTRY. Every country needs investment dollars from as many people as possible. That is why Americans are prosperous. We let everybody invest in our country. Those investment dollars from China, Japan, Middle East, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and South America pay for the new technology and job development in America. Kurdistan should get some of that capital. New jobs bring about a better future than subsidizing old line companies that have little future. THE PRICE OF YOUR LABOR IS INVERSELY CORRELATED TO THE PRICE OF CAPITAL (INVESTMENT MONEY.)
Websites like Kurdistan the Other Iraq are very important in getting the Kurdish message out.
Good job, Kurdistan!
