Very interesting conference about Saddam's crimes and the bad policy of Western countries during 35 years... a long transcription, but as a study of Iraqi baasism, it is great !

1. Very good post as usual!

2. Piling I probably will attend to a Kurdish conference in Paris coming week. Do you know about it?
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

The 1st December there will be one in the French Parliament concerning the status and future of Kurds in Syria. Is it this one ?

I have (but in French) the draft-programm of the conference. Only the name of participants is not yet published for reasons of safety (some of them will come from Syria). If you like I can send it to you by mail.

I will have more information next week because we have to prepare it in coordination with these Kurdish associations. But for the moment half of our staff is in Hewlêr for the conference !

You know my e-mail? I would like to see it. I know who will come. But there are also some Syrian Baathofficials in Paris. That's why they are very cautious.
