Palestinians have the support of all Arab states and much Islamic states... even if this support prevents any kind of negociations for 57 years...

But Kurds are alone. The only official government who could protest is the Kurdistan Government... I don't think they do it, they want to manage good relations with Iran.

didn't the puk fire weapons when rojhilatî tried protesting against iran during this summer's uprising?

so, yes, i have to agree with your assessment that they (probably both KRGs) want good relations with iran. however, they also need to learn that "having good relations" doesn't always mean you have to go along with something that is wholly objectionable.

the people should have the freedom to protest.

Concerning Mahabad I translate a statement of the Committe to support Human's rights in Iran http://www.csdhi.org

Iran : Riots burst in a city of Kurdistan

- State Safety forces (FSE) were deployed in the streets of the town of Mahabad to Kurdistan, in the North-West of Iran. An emergency state under martial law was imposed de facto, according to local Kurdish militants'.

Repression intervenes following many confrontations between hostile protesters with the power and the paramilitary police force of the city, as an inhabitant of Mahabad learn to Iran Focus by mail. His report was confirmed by another inhabitant joint by telephone. The paramilitary police force charged the protesters with teargases.

The clashes burst after a soldier in uniform killed a Kurdish inhabitant, following a quarrell between police officers and young people.

Whereas the news of the murder of the young man was spread, the inhabitants are descended in the street for launching hostile slogans to the capacity.

We don't know if there were arrests.

This summer, demonstration of protests constantly happened in the areas of Iranian Kurdistan. Several demonstrators were killed by agents of the FSE which wanted to prevent the protests from becoming extensive.

The protests had been started by the deliberate murder of a young Kurdish militant opposed to the power, Shawane Ghaderi. His body had been attached behind a jeep and trailed in the streets of the city.
