iran has become like a barking dog in the region and also causing instabilities in iraq and syria , and the west is somehow scared of too much shiite influence in the ME.

who knows really.

I personally think that Iran is "too big" to be "manageable" and must be "cut up into bite size-chunk". Its oil and gas reserves are nothing to be sniffed at, and it can potentially supply the "nabucco" pipeline with an alternative gas to the Russian/Turkmen/Kazakh gas...

perhaps europeans don't want to be at Russia's mercy every winter, and need a guaranteed alternative supplier (azeri, Iraqi and Kurdish gas is simply not enough for them).

First of all a invasion of Iran like Iraq in 2003 by Americans are imposible, because Iran is much stronger then Iraq and the Iranians are much more nationalists sure they will fight against a invasion. I have meat Iranians how are against the Mullah regime but when a attack on Iran will comes he said to me that he will fight against them. If you remember Iraq-Iran war, Iraq was supported by west with weapons and Arab states, while Iran was much weaker after the 1979, but if you see at the battles Iran wins more battles then Iraq in that time 80% of Iraq was supporting Irans side, Shia and Kurds and i remember from what i heard 87% Irans populations was supporting their army against Saddam, first of all we must be realistic the Persians have a very state experience then the arabs, for the Azeris there i dont think they want autonomy many of them are asmilated, belucis i dont know so much, only Kurds will get a autonomy i think. But USA cant attack Iran from the air but again it is not that easy to do that because of Russia and China.

I think the majority of azeris wants to belong to iran but there are those who wanna split. Baloch have alots of love and respect towards us kurds and they are very nationalistic.
