america sends Seucrity official to prison because of iran

acording to radio farda, America has arrested an official of security who was head iran section , for giving secret info of iran to israel !and he will be sentenced to 12 years prison .

question 1 : what that secret info can be ?
we all know iran is this ...that ...no human right ...is making bomb... (so what that info can be ?)

question 2 : why america doenst want Israel to know about Iran ?
arent they alley , and isnt iran their common enemy ?

I really like to know the answer of these questions, it is very strange to me, that america sends one of its guys to 12 years prison for such a strange reason.

No American can knowingly reveal classified (secret) information to anyone...anyone in the world. I don't know what information he gave to Israel but it could have been any kind of sensitive data...such as the names of Iranians in Iran giving information to Americans.

It doesn't matter that Isreal is considered an ally. How can anyone know whether the Israeli agent to whom he sold the information wasn't taking money from the Iranian government to give the information to them too?

Secrets are secret. They stay secret by people not talking about them. That is why this CIA will go to jail for a long time, and that is why he should.
