DTP closure?

PostAuthor: Barış » Sat Dec 05, 2009 2:51 am

Well, you probably know already that the Constitutional Court this Tuesday will begin hearing the case of the Supreme Court of Appeals vs. the DTP. The prosecution demands the party’s closure on charges of separatism.

Around 2 years ago In Nov 2007 the Constitutional Court said it had accepted an indictment from Supreme Court of Appeals prosecutors to shut down the DTP. The prosecution says that the DTP has ties to the PKK. The indictment also calls for 220 DTP members to be banned from politics... Anyways, the DTP has 20 members in the 550-seat Parliament. To shut down the DTP, the Constitution requires that at least 7 of the 11 members of the Constitutional Court vote for its closure.

My questions are: do ya think the DTP will be shut down? If so, do ya think Kurds will even lose more rights?

DTP will not be shut down , I can say that with certainty . The turkish government have no choice but to show the kurds that their turkish dinsour constitution still apply to please the nationalist turks .

The Deep state is resposible for such rediculous charges , If anything the closure of DTP will further devided turkey which in my views is a good thing for kurdistan . They have tried thing much worst that closure of a Kurdish party from Destroying Kurdish villages , imprisonments , torture and look what that got them !! It just makes kurds more angry and more kurdish than ever .These kind of action contribut to the kurdish nationlist movments and the govenment is smart enough to understand that .

The closure of DTP if it happens is a step backward for turkey and a step forward kurdish nationalist movement . In terms of Kurdish rights , honestly I could care less about these penut rights .

the DTP will probably shut down, but not enough, cause they will start a new party after that.
did you know leader of DTP has surname türk!,that is so ironic,is it not!?
i think all the PKK sympathizers must be judged and must be sent to prison and kurds against PKK will not loose any rights.

I wish they will shut down , It is gives kurds more valid reason to continue fighting turkish regim .

You see my point ?? Turkey have no choice but to solve the kurdish question .

how is that Ironic ?? At least he knows he is a Kurd and he is defending kurdish rights . You one the othere hand have a Kurdish name yet completly turkified and defend the otracities of turkey more than a turk .

last time I checked turkey could not even arrest pkk member who came back to Northren Kurdistan from Qandil base only few months ago , So I do not know how would they judge and imprison 30 million kurd .

You talk like turkey have a choice when it comes to kurdish rights . The road to European union goes through the gates of Amed . My advice to you is to try working on DE-Turkifying yourself instead of defending the same Regim who made you what you are now .

DTP is more respected by kurds now for refusing to lable pkk as a terrorist organizatin . Arresting DTP member will make them even more popular than Ever . great idea
