I think no kurd should ever consider himself a turkish or iraqi or Iranian citizen and for those of us in Europe or north american We must always insist to be recognized as Kurd from Kurdistan because being labled otherwise is pure racism and you can take that to court .

I don't understand her speaking .. but with your short and good explanation I can express my opinion .
I never have been in Turkey ,
I weren't turkish citizen
and probably I'm not familiar with all situation in turkish Kurdistan .. BUT I can understand her view point and feelings even with reading recent articles in newspapers .

what normal person wants to live in a state where our ancient nation as before and now accepting not for STRONG KURDISH NATION but as a "mountain Turks"??
Who wants to be a citizen of state which doesn't guarantee basic elementary rights?
where the rich potential of Kurdish children cruelly lost??
What mother wants to be a citizen of the state when she can't be sure that her children are leaving school or walking at the street will not be injured or killed? ...
and so so so .. :(

I admire her for realising the abhorrent policy towards Kurds in her country. But you can't deny who you are. Instead of complaining about being Turkish she should work hard to make being Turkish a positive thing. Join a pro Kurdish movement with other Turks who are sympathetic to the Kurdish cause and help our people until Turkey is a haven for Kurds and hopefully we will see northern Kurdistan join southern Kurdistan in our lifetimes :)
