
BAGHDAD, July 13 (AKnews)- Iraqi Wrestling Federation (IWF) has decided to hold clubs' championships in Zakho, Duhok province, IWF chairman said.
Najaf and Zakho both demanded to host the championships but the federation chose Zakho, said Abdul-Kareem Hameed.
Hameed added the championships for youth level, 20-24 years old wrestlers, will run July 15-19. The federation has also coordinated with Zakho Club for setting the stage for the event. The official added a technical committee has also been formed to select the best players in the light of the results. The chosen wrestlers will represent Iraqi team in Thailand championships in September.
The Wrestling Federation has also decided to incur the entire stay expenses for the delegations from various Iraqi provinces, according to Hameed.
