There are some Kurdish peshmergas that don't look very tough. Some actually look quite gayish and skinny. I think that when they take pictures of Peshmergas, the Peshmergas should pose in a very cool way. Not in a gay pose where you can see their hips #-o Of course this is only a minority
No disrespect to the Peshmerga but this is the reality. :(

Some new Peshmergas sign up and think this is Call of Duty... If you wanna be a soldier, you gotta be tough and look tough. To be tough, you got to work out.

Look at this pic of a Peshmerga. He looks fat and not fit at all. No disrespect btw...

The pictures should look cool, like this. I certainly wouldn't want to mess with him :)

What you are saying is:

1. Complete bull shit

2. Very disrespectful

I haven't seen you around a lot on this forum and this is how you talk about the people who give their lives to defend Kurdistan?
Of course some are out of shape, but that is not a reason to talk about them like that. I bet you don't even have the balls to do what they're doing every single day. And it is only the older Peshmerga who're out of shape, they haven't been fighting for years now, while the younger Peshmerga's are all fit.

Besides:

- Do you know the legendary hero Mame Risha? Have you seen his pictures? He was a very skinny, and not very tall man. But even Saddam was afraid of him. In some battles he killed 100+ Arab soldiers on his own, he destroyed tanks and shot down military aircraft and he killed people of the Revolutionary Guard who were ten times his size. Don't underestimate people.

As Mazlum Dogan once said:

'' You might be a big fish eating the small fish. But remember that the little fish can get stuck in your throat on the way down''. Never underestimate. Other than that, I agree that any military unit should be well trained ( the pictures taken aside, since I do not know how valid they are. Generally, Peshmerga look in a very good shape).

Sulaimani 16th Brigade detains two terrorists

PostAuthor: alan131210 » Sat Aug 25, 2012 7:56 am

The 16th Brigade (Iraqi Armed Forces) detained two wanted terrorists in a series of counter-terrorism operations Friday in the Hamrin district.

The 16th Brigade of the Iraqi Armed Forces – composed largely of Sulaimani natives, also known as Sulaimani 16th Brigade – detained two suspected terrorists in a counter-terrorism operation in Kirkuk Province’s Hamrin district

The Brigade informed PUKmedia the counter-terrorism operations in the Hamrin district will persist to captivate terrorist activities in the area.

Also in Tuz-Khurmatu Friday a roadside bomb detonated near a Military base wounding one.

Iraq's security forces and government offices are top targets for insurgents seeking to undermine the Shiite-led government's authority.

Peshmerga has not pulled out of disputed areas

PostAuthor: alan131210 » Sun Aug 26, 2012 2:28 am

A high commander in the Peshmerga told (BAS) news agency that the Peshmerga forces have not withdrawn from any kurdish isolated areas under their control.

He said "the only way it would be for our dead bodies to be withdrawn", stating that "we will never hand over one inch of our land to iraqi army" he added.

The Peshmerga high ranking officer called upon these news from baghdad as "propaganda" called it as a way to deceive the iraqi streets to cover up for their failure in providing public services to their own people.

Worth mentioning yesterday Ali Ghedan iraqi armed forces commander has announced that Peshmerga has handed over Zumar to iraqi army and Peshmerga forces had withdrawn from the area.

I have OS X 10.6.8
LOL

but my next computer/laptop will be Windows, and if in doesnt come with win 8, I'll download it.

But I've noticed that many schools and offices have newer technologies nowadays. I visited a college in Hawler and they had new windows pc's, not to mention that secondary schools also are starting to buy whiteboards.

Btw Alan, the beta version of windows 8 was released a long time ago. You can download it and it is legal too! Just google for windows 8 beta and you'll find it (make sure you download it from the Microsoft website). The beta version also supports Kurdish, but like any other language besides English, you'll have to download it through windows update. This goes for all windows 8 software you download that only has one language (which is most of the times English)

So suppose I download windows 8 beta (which is English ofc), I'll have to go to windows update to download the language pack of any other language. So in the past I used to download the Dutch language pack, but now if I download windows 8, I'll have to look for Central Kurdish, which is sorani.

However, if you buy a laptop/desktop computer in Kurdistan, you don't need to download it as it is the only language of the operating system.
