i agree with rawand and kurdistano.
Plus,dont misunderstand me. i know our peshmerga is strong and brave. But we must not overestimate our army,like saddam did when he faced the americans. We need modern arms to win a conventional war.
with the weapons we have now,we will not last long in open terrian (in a conventional war). We can do huge damage in moutainous terrain. but we must defend the disputed areas,and therefore we need modern weapons to fight a conventional warfare against iraqi army,and maybe even later our other enemies too.

Flappy: that is completely not true, there are over 500 kurdish schools in Kirkuk under KRG's control so Baghdad has no zero nil control over them just like our oil and arm deals .

Those ones you speak of are Kurds who study in Arabic schools but study kurdish as well under Baghdad payroll, tuff luck for them it's time to dump learning Arabic which is common amongst Kirkukis. That's what 40 years of constant arabization does to u.
