why our flag has a sun in it ?
is it because kruds were sun worshiper in ancient times?

i read a book that said kurds were so wise...i those ages, humans used to pray for animals or stones...but kurds prayed for sun..
and it is logical , sun is the source of all of the eneregies in the world...

so do you think , that sun in our flag is because we were sun wroshiper before?

Kurds have before being Muslim been Yezidi - The Yezidi pray three times each day - when they pray they look at the sun... and when they pray no nonbeliever must see them... Because then their prayers won't be accepted by God... or something like that...

this flag been designed by Iranian Kurds. KDP(south) has nothing to do with that sun.

Sorry... But the Kurdish flag in use to day was disigned by the BedirXan's in the 1930s...
It was first raised in Mahabad.... in 1946

The reason why we have this flag is:

The flag is like a picture from the beautifull nature in Kurdistan - The Sun is RISING and the sky is RED and the land is GREEN and fertile...

The reason we have 21 rays on the sun are supposed to be Yezidi - from NEW ROJ - NEW ROZ - the 21 rays prepresent the 21st of March...

The sun is for education not for sun worshiping, why dont you look on the internet. Qazi Muhammed made the flag.

i think its a beautiful flag. it was first raised in mehabad by qazi mohammed and has absolutely nothing to dowith the kurdish political parties. it has 21 sides on the sun representing the 21st march (NEWROZ)-which has been an old tradition for the kurdish people for centuries.
