I saw a news on facebook that says
acording to some sources, some of the vehicels of iraqi arm stopped working on their way to Kerkuk, and they think america could be behind it , because america sold the weapons to iraq on one condition not to be used against iraqi people .
acordig to this news 15 hams stopped working on their way to kerkuk.

I know that technically it is possible, nowadays most cars could be controlled by sattelites, let say if your car be stolen, you can ask the company to make the car stop working using the sattelites .

could anyone confirm this news?

But what if America got angry with the Kurds - would they switch the vehicles back on

technically they could. most cars built in the last 5-10 years operate based on computers. it would be easy to program that computer to be able to receive commands to disregulate the fuel/air intake, engage the break system, lock the steering wheal, maybe even turn off the engine.
