I think it was a town near Hewler and not Duhok 
.
I am happy that the refuges are welcomed by kurdish forces. I have seen images of the mass migration of 1991 where the turkish soldiers beat people up. Biji Peshmergeh.

if u google map this (Khabat, Arbil, Irak) it will tell you where it approximately is.
