yeah Kassem you are right, I read a book about kurds, the writers said , Kurds are a nation who never attecked to any other nation ...and also they never tried to spread their relligion all over the world...they belived, being zoroasterian is an honor for Kurds, and there is no need to force other nations be honored by this relligion ..... and you can see zoroasterians and jews had a very good connection in the history.,..our king rescued them...to practice relligion .(instead of offering them to be zoroasterian)

the writer admired kurds for this ...and blamed arabs for attacking to other nations to express islam.

I really love this zoroasterians....I wish I was zoroasterian.... :( :?

Zoroastrians are Zardushts. I'm sure you know who Zardushts are?

i think Ezidis are like Allevis where they influenced by both Islam and Zardushti

Here are the yezidi's in the US...I have their link on my blog. They might have even come before the Zoroastrian religion. They seem to me to be very ancient in their beliefs, and the ideas about keeping fires burning reminds me of a religion that started before man knew he could make fire. Also, the egg is very important to them and the sun too. I do not know if they will survive as a culture if they do not have some way to accept others into the religion and tribes, because genetically, they are on the verge of extinction aren't they?

I am not sure about that group but I will tell you something I have heard... I heard the name Yezidi is not the correct name of the religion and is actually offensive to Izidis or Yizidis

If you are familiar with Shi'a religion, then you are familiar with the story of when Yezid killed Iman Hussein, and for that Shi'as dislike Yezid.

I have heard that people began to call the Izidis or Yizidis as "Yezidis" as an insult to them. Anyone heard this before?

Zoroasterian or Zerdeshti is Kurds relligion before islam.
theyir slogan is
1-Good Thoughts
2-Good Works
3-Good Words
they belive we must always keep a central fire alive, because they belive Fire is the only thing in this world that can never be dirty and aslo can clean everything by putting dirty things in it...."

if you may know there is province in iran called Yazd ,
most of the iranian zoroasterians live there.
it been said that when arabs defeated iran , Kurdistan was the only place that Arabs couldnt defeat and ...so these zoroasterians from Yazd Province of Iran , runned away to Kurdistan. and ppl called them Yezdi .(ppl from yazd)

in the Armeninas forums an armenian, told me about a Book in Russian that he had read, he told me that russian writer spent many of his years to reasearch about Izedis .
the writer disconverd this izedis cant go out of a circel ,mean if you draw circel arround an izedi he will stay and cant go out of it...
that areminan said it in an insulting way, and said they are worshipiers of evil.

whatever...

I like to share more info abuot zoroasterian here...specially for those who dont know about them like chicholak.
so please keep on sharing info, about Zerdesht.

Thanks emmunah for the link, I must read their time whe I have time.

and another thing in that armeinain forum, they gave me a link to a news.

that said a group of izedis in armeina dont like to call thmself kurd, even they speak Kurdish , they always Warn to Government to change the armenia law
in armenia law , they are named as Kurds, because they speak kurmanji Kurdish.

but some of them , said Muslem Kurds killed us . -and I think it is true we muslem kurds killed them for being Izedi and Kafir-

now in the Armenia Law, they devided Krurds to Kurds and izdis who are not kurd.
and sure armenians are happy or that...because if one day a kurdistan country be created. then they will tell us , they are not kurd... (even they speak kurdish) and we dont have right to have arrarat mountian as kurdistan.

that news said, recent years, PKK who is a scholoar party , had made some fans in aremian izedisi and it was like an appologize to izedi kurds for being killed by muslem kurds...

and some joined to PKK because it wasnt islamic...and it is the first time that Kuds in amreina do something for Kurdistan...because of PKK being intelegent for not being islamic

Medya and Heval,

Why do the Yezidi call themselves Yezidi if they think it is an insult?

Also, I found the World Zoroastrian Organization...it's a cool site:

Emmunah,

Yazidi is insult, not Izedi.

Yazid was one the Arabs King who killed Imam Hosseyn (the Shia's Imam)

* Yazidi is diffrent with Izadi. . (Yazid an Arab Friece King and Yazidi means the fans of Yazid)

Yeah I think you are right. "Yazid", or written in Latini Kurdi, "Yezid", is an insult, but "Yezid", pronounced "Yîzid" or "îzedî" is the correct way

All do respect - but have you studied Kurdish in the latin script? I mean since you are spelling the word wrong... well in standard Kurmanji it is spelled either "Yêzdi" or "Êzedî"... last I checked...

DIRI

Take it easy mr. know-it-all. Yes, I have studied the latin script. That's exactly my point. From what I heard Yêzdî or Yezdî is an insult and the correct pronunciation is Yîzdî or îzidî.
