Those written "Roxane photo" are from a french woman photograph who knows northern kurdistan by heart! I went with her in Southern Kurdistan this summer but she's very lazy and did not publish her photos yet!

Here is a collection of pictures I've personally taken on my way to Wan province - I took the pictures while in the car...

Image

Image

Image
Elezîz Center...

Image
Cute cows came walking onto the road... :)

Image

Image

Image
On the road from Elezîz to Bingol - there were a LOT of donkeys along the road... :)

Image

Image
Occasionally a flock of sheep or goats would come out on to the road...

Image
Deshta Mûshê... 50 km of open landscape - surrounded on all sides - by beautiful mountains...

Image

Image

Image
Near Tetwan...

Image

Image

Image
Washing their wool by the river somewhere between Tetwan and Wan...

Image

Image

Image

Image
Breath taking landscape...

Image
Altitude 2700 meters (where the car is) - the mountain is around 3000 + meters...

Image

Image

Image
This is Akdamar Island - on the Wan Lake... If you look closely - you can see Akdamar Church... Which you can find pictures of further up this thread...

Image
Romantic place...

Image

Image

Image

Image
Closer to my birth lands: Colemêrg...

Image

This type of "Jandarma control stations" are everywhere in North Kurdistan... It's ridiculous - you drive 20 km. and another stupid station shows up - "Dur dur" it says ("Stop stop") - and they can be real sons of b****** at those stations - all are soldiers and commanders - making you open all your baggage - and ask you stupid questions... Just to annoy you and terrorize you... This one soldier looked at our Europeans passport - and asked - "Where is fathers name and mothers name written?" (Those are written on all Turkish documents... But never in European documents...) They don't say "Tork-e-khar" for nothing...

Image
Wan dam project... Where electrisity is made - and 70% of it is transported to "West Turkey"... The rest is used for Turkish state institutions in North Kurdistan - called "Dogu" ("East") by Turks...

Image

Image
Wish I was there...

Image
Kurds love sheep...

Image
Yes we do... Beautiful animal...

Image
A little village on top of that hill... Pictures can't capture that beauty... =)

Image
Water streaming down from the mountain side... :)

You are welcome brother... :)

The last three posts - Harran and Riha (of course), pictures taken from the car when driving to Bashkala (Wan Province) and the pictures of Kela Xoşaw (Xoşaw Castle) are from Northern Kurdistan... :)

Only in the first set of pictures, are there pictures from all over Kurdistan - from every corner of Kurdistan... :)

I really wanna go to Southern Kurdistan too... :(

You are welcome to do so... I wanna share the beauty of Kurdistan with every European and Westerner... At least you people don't desire to occupy it...

And by the way dear - In Kurdish "Urfa" is Riha... :)
