In the month of Remezan, it is believed that the doors of heaven are wide open and that the doors of hell are closed!

This morning I didn't wake up to eat something and there's still 28 minutes left Plus, all of my family is like constantly waving food in my face they have no idea I'm fasting of!

Do you work or study? Just asking because I wonder how you cope with it...

I mean personally I'm not in a suitable position to fast... My parents told me, or more correctly, adviced me not to fast...

You see I'm all by myself - far from family (and other loved ones) - and go study from early till late everyday... So if I don't eat and drink during my studies, I'll have real difficulties concentrating and keeping focused during lectures... And when I get home - nobody's here to make me iftar (dinner in Remezan, for those who didn't know)...

But I'm fasting tomorrow and on Saturday, because then I'll go to my parents house for the weekend...

You're right bira it's really hard when you're all by yourself and I'm guessing it's even harder with your current exams. I remember when I was in Colemêrg for my first ramadan ever and there was this special kind of mood and excitement which made it a great experience..but now I actually have to hide that I'm fasting and it's just no fun. My husband has asked me not to do it but I'm really keen on it and it always gets easier after a few days
I'm currently working but I never had any problems concentrating while fasting..I'd say all together it's pretty easy for me except I get quite thirsty as the day passes. I still haven't decided which is harder - the long fast in a cold climate or the shorter fast in a hot climate

Oh wow - you've done it before... And now you are defying your husband to do it...

God bless you - Mashallah - you are strong willed and diciplined indeed... May God reward you well for your sacrifice! And yes, there's something of a taboo about fasting in Europe - people sometimes consider it backwards... Which is very stupid - since it is a great sacrifice of self for your beliefs and for God... One compromises to show sympathy with those who have nothing... One is forced to endure the waterlessness and foodlessness of so many in this world - and it leaves an impression on us... We're even more thankful for what we've got and we understand that this shouldn't be taken for granted: there is a God who provided us with these luxurious and comforts...

Oruç is Turkish... In Kurdish it is Rojî. As you know "Roj" means both "Sun" and "Day". And "Rojî bûn" means "To be daily" (litterally)...

my coworker is Muslim, the tension is high, for when I use to where my baphomet necklace which is a symbol that stnist wear. The reason why I wore it, is because the symbol to me means Neutrality and wisdom, and also I like image. Anyway I am thinking for Eid, that I make a halal peporoni pizza as a gift to lesson the tension. We never had an argument, but I think this random act of kindness would better our bussiness relationship at work.

I will make sure it's halal, as their will be no dead products in their!

Yes, it is... I found it on Google - and it's supposed to be real, yes... And there were many more interesting and beautiful arcitectural works - but I settled for this one, since it's very unique for a Mosque!
