My name is Asena.I'm a Turkish lady who has been living in Northern Kurdistan for 3 years due to work ;;)

To be honest, I was a bit prejudiced against Kurdish people in general before settling down here...After spending 3 years with them, now I'm fond of Kurdish people, music, food and culture ;)

As for why I am here, I love socializing whenever and wherever possible...Meeting new people has always been a great excitement for me :)

I'm so happy to be with you here, see you all :ymhug:

Welcome Asena :ymhug:

Thank you saying such lovely things about Kurds :D

I have always found Kurds to be a very warm friendly people and believe that if more Turkish people got to know them there would not be so much conflict :D

Do NOT worry about referring to the Kurdish area as "Turkish Kurdistan", many Kurds refer to the area as North Kurdistan (NK) but others refer to it as Turkish Kurdistan as you yourself would be well aware having lived there.

In truth Kurds do not really know what to call that area especially since recent political changes :-?

Sometimes we argue on here but it is nothing serious and I am personally DELIGHTED to have another female here :ymparty:

Thank you for the warmest welcome here :ymparty:

As for the "Turkish Kurdistan" issue, I didn't mean to offend :-s As I mentioned before, I have been living in the region for quite some time and heard many Kurds referring to it as such...Both in real life and on the net...Apologies for the ones who got offended, editing my post and the thread title would be no problem ;)

Hi Asena, it was nice of to you go back and edit your post. I know that many Turks refuse to use the word Kurdistan. I hope you enjoy the discussions here.
