Just above Mosul are Yezidi Kurdish holy places and those places are really Kurdish. And nobody will ever steal those places from Kurds.
Correction, everything above Mousel is not Kurdish because some of the most holly Assyrian sites (Ancient and Christian eras) exists north of Mousel....
The following sites and villages are north of Mousel yet are some of the most ancient Assyrian towns:
Alqosh - Perhaps the most important and oldest Assyrian village today, its name comes from the words El (God) and Qosh (Bow) which meant the God who held the Bow (Ashur), it contains so much Assyrian history in it, it is the home of Rabban Hurmiz Monastery (Built around the 5th/6th century AD), it is the home of Prophet Nahum's tomb (Biblical Prophet of the Old Testament from the 6th century BC), and it also contains ancient Assyrian sites like the ruins of Sin's temple (Sin was the moon God in Mesopotamia), the Assyrian royal family also used to hold celebrations in Alqosh during the Akito festival. Alqosh is located between the borders of Ninwa and Duhok (It's part of the Ninwa province).
I'm only gonna mention Alqosh because Alqosh itself is pretty high north of Mousel, in fact it's closer to Duhok city then to Mousel, so to say anything above Mousel is Kurdish is very false because we have other villages like Telkef, Telesquf, Beqopa, Batnaya, Sharafeiya, Bendawaya, and other smaller ones, that's not to mention the ones east of Mousel like Bakhdida, Bartella, Karamles, and Ba'sheeqa which are pretty big towns...
I'm aware of the Yezidi Kurdish areas north of Mousel as well, I'm assuming that you're speaking of Shaikhan and Ain Sifni districts, and they are Yezidi areas but they're more of north east Mousel rather then straight north..
Don't mean to troll the boards but what's right and right and this is nothing but the truth.
Shlama, khon - pshana
Nice to have you here...
Thanks for the info... And yeah - the Nineveh Plains are Assyrian heartland and should be the base of an Assyrian Autonomous Region...
Inshallah soon...
