Turkic - Kurdish and Iranian language similarity

PostAuthor: kurd-sthanam » Wed Nov 10, 2010 9:13 pm

Silav hevalno, kekno.

I have always question in my had about turkish and kurdish / iranian similarity, why are there these similarities, are they influence on turkish? I have searched a lot on internet but could not find anything. it will be very helpfull, if none know about turkic languages and turkish.

Ez/min - Ben / Men - I/me
Ez girim - Ben büyügüm - I'm big
Bircîyam - Acim - i'm hugry
Ez Kurdim - Ben kürdüm - i'm kurd
TV de - TV de - On TV
Malê Da - Evde - At home

Soranî example: yarî min/yarim - yarim

It is sure that in kurdish it comes from indo-european, min is indo european, but why have turkish this?

Can that be traced to turkish assimilating of eastern iranic speakers or iranic influence on turkic languages?

When the mongols first arrived in the middle east, they had no form of writing. So, they started to use Persian to keep the records when they formed the ottoman empire. After a couple of centuries they wrote the Turkish with Persian script. This was so until the last century when under Ataturk the Latin script was adopted. So, It has been affected by Persian to great extent.

The Mongols were very uneducated when they first got here.. they knew nothing of culture and civilization they would just go raid place to place... they burned the great library in Baghdad ,.... a great tragedy... it was only until later on that they learned to settle down and get educated from the Arabs and Persians...
