Languages evolve... Nothing is absolut...
Just to draw an analogy;
Some Kurds say "Xorhelat" instead of "Rojhelat" - But as we know Persians call the son for "Xor"... And so do Kurds... Both are Aryan languages - so we build on the same fundament - but we have a total different grammatical structure...
Same with Newroz/Newroj/Newrosh/Newro/Newrû etc... Also in Persian - you will find in some places they use other words for "roz"... Like in Kurdish;
Roz, Roj, Ro, Rû, Rûz and other names for "Sun/Day" exist...

That is what they teach you in Turkey... Anything that is from "East" is "Persian"... They never sit down and think "hey - there are Kurds, Baloch, Punjab, Pashtun and other peoples in the East too"...
Intellectual Turks know better... Inshallah more intellectuals will emerge withing Turkey - from the Turkish nation... They need to help open "Turkiye"s eyes...

In lexicon Kirdkî/pehlevî/kurmancî of Malmîsanij, we could read :
In pehlevî (ancient Iranian language) Xor, roç, roçek = roj.
In zazakî : roz, roc, or roj.
In Kirmancî : roj.
From a linguistic point of view, roz and roj are the same words, it only slightly differs, as there are many variations between regional pronunciations.
But some people think too that zazakî (kirdkî) is an older form of Kurdish than kirmancî, then perhaps originally ancient Kuridsh said : Roz.

Newroz is Kurdistan national day, it coincide with Median victory over Assyrian in 612 BC, the term word Newroz during time has been changed, it may have been newRoj, as some friend mentioned, Persian have used for their own national day(if you remember after Persian take over Kurdistan they used almost same systems as was remained from Median,becouase Persian simply that time was considered as baberian with no governmental system or administrative law),for Persian it may also coincide with spring due to zerdust festives,but for Kurds especially and Ezdi Kurds religion Newroz have very special place, is day of rise of nationa and its foundation ,Medes Empire
in Newroz kurds have sezdebeder(actual word seszde ber der==means thirteen day(of nerowz) out door) , as we know Persian haven’t got no such word at all, but they they been using it for years, it means they got it from kurds.
