A question:

Do the most Sorani-Speakers use shéw or shíw for "dinner", with é or with í? And do the most Sorani-Speakers use "péwan" for "to measure", with é? Thank you.

Reyna silam! Ti senin ey, hewl ey? Well for ur information I must say often there is a rule: Sorani "é" is equall to Kurmanci/Kelhuri/Leki "í". Sorani soeaking Kurds mainly say "shiw" except Erdellani speakers. In Sine city we often say "sham" but in the rural areas people say "shim". Also in the south (kelhur, lek, etc) they say "shim" too (but in Kirmashan I think they say "sham" like us in Sine).

Sorry I corrected my post, the main Sorani variety is "shêw" and "shîm" and "sham" are along with it. In the southern Kurmanci people say "shîm" and sometimes "sham", and as u know in the north tehy say "shîv".
Also in Sorani it's often "mêwan" (but in Sine we say "mêman"/"mêyman"). in the southern Kurmanci it's "mîwan" and in the northern its "mîvan". Sorry bro I'm a little bit buzz for these days-like always!! But I'll add u on yahoo very soon.
