Questions about Zaza

PostAuthor: DeeDee1975 » Thu Nov 26, 2009 6:04 pm

Hi all,

I am new to this forum so forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong section.
My boyfriend is Kurdish living in Turkey and I am due to go to visit his mother with him at Christmas. I thought that I would try to learn some basic phrases before I go as I know that she doesnt speak any english and that her Turkish is limited although he speaks both fluently. However, he has told me that she speaks Zaza and I really cannot find any information regarding this language, does anyone know of anything that would help me with this. And actually if there is anyone that could give me some basic phrases to learn that would be fantastic. I would really like to make a good impression as we intend to marry, I know that this will go ahead either way but as this is the first time we will actually meet face to face it is important to me that I respect her culture, traditions and language.

Thanks in advance :)

Dee

Welcome to RBK! :D

Actually the topic is also about language so it's in right forum, but if you want, your topic can be moved to ''Introduce Yourself''.

I only know 3 phrases in Zazakî: :(

Xêr Amê = Welcome

Mabe xêr = Hello

Ti senêna? = How are you?

There are some Zaza members here that can help ya much more...
