Turkmen and Al Nusra terrorists destroy Russian helicopter with tow missile

Turkmen and Al Nusra terrorists destroyed a Russian helicopter with a tow missile, after it made an emergency landing in a nearby area held by government on Tuesday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Russian helicopter was on a rescue mission and was searching for pilots of downed Russian fighter jet by Turkey over Syria.

According to Reuters, a Syrian insurgent group, recipient of U.S. Tow missiles, said its fighters hit the helicopter with an anti-tank missile while it was in the air and put out a video showing the helicopter being blown up after one of its fighters struck it with another missile.

The head of Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Abdulrahman claimed that at least ten people were on the helicopter when it was hit by the jihadists but they were all evacuated when it landed and before the tow missile destroyed it.

Two Russian pilots were reportedly killed by Turkey backed terrorist groups near Turkish – Syria border.
