Diyar: "Ez ne Ibrhaim Tatlisesim...Ez Kurde Kure Kurdim

PostAuthor: Vladimir » Thu Apr 06, 2006 2:22 pm

Kurdish singer from North-KUrdistan Diyar Dersimi is currently visiting South-Kurdistan.
There he said: "Ez ne Ibrhaim Tatlisesim...Ez Kurde Kure Kurdim."

BIJI DIYAR!
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

Biji Dyar , If I was Tatlis, I would regret for my past behaviours...
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then YOU WIN !

Good for Diyar...

He should however, improve his Kurdish - and change his attitude towards Kurdish language...

In a discussion forum on Roj TV he once said - "Kurdish is too diverse - we need to use one word for things" - off the top of my head... He was mocking the many dialects we have - saying we should cut the "exessive words"...

Anyway...

Ps. Don't try defending his words by saying - "he meant we should standarize Kurdish" - because that was NOT what he meant - and the discussion was on Kurdish music - so he meant that there should be one standard for Kurdish musical language... For writting lyrics etc.

And a lady in the same discussion said - "We should prohibit "lo lo lo" and "lê lê lê" in songs because it makes Kurdish music cheap and sleazy"!

What a moron...

I'm sure at least that part of it was a joke because Dîyar has songs that go "lê lê lê". All in all, he is a great Kurdish musician with talent for writing and singing regardless of this one interview with Roj

No - you misread - I said - "A lady in the same discussion said..." Not "Diyar said"... :)

It wasn't an interview - but a discussion forum for artists - on live TV...

Anyway - he isn't my taste... His songs are a bit boring to me... Not so dynamic - I used to like 'em before - but he just keeps repeating the same stuff over and over...

Okey if you didn't misread - let me say - the lady was another singer - who had her input... That was her oppinion... And no more discussing on that matter! :)

So it wasn't a joke - and the discussion forum wasn't about Diyar - there were many singers there... :)

She was stupid for saying something like that..: Giving away our Lêlêlê and Lololo is like selling our language... Lo and Lê are definite parts of Kurdish culture!

I wonder if he would ever say:"Diyar: "Ez ne Apo...Ez Kurde Kure Kurdim".

An update even though it is kind of old now... They interviewed Diyar on Kurdistan-TV shortly after the concerts... Some of the more interesting responses...

When asked how he feels about the politics and parties of Kurdistan. He responded by saying that he respects and admires the Kurdish guerillas up North because they are his fathers, brothers and sisters, and that growing up in Northern Kurdistan, they were the only ones who protected them and fought for their rights. But, he said, as a Kurdish singer, he belongs to no one party or group. He said (roughly translated to English), "As a Kurdish singer from Kurdistan, I belong to the people of all of Kurdistan."

They also asked him about his wife who recently released an album. He said that she always had a passion for singing, and that they've both been supportive of one another in their musical careers. He helped her a lot with the release of her album.

Diyar also said he was amazed to see the beauty of freedom in Southern Kurdistan. He said that Kurds must preserve what has been achieved there. He wishes to revisit the South many times in the future. One thing he emphasized that he said really touched his heart more than anything was the fact that people in the South speak Kurdish everywhere :)

And here is one for Kak Diri - When they asked Diyar if he has any plans for future events, he said that it is his lifelong dream to have a concert in Urmiye one day... but unfortunately, he said, right now it is not possible because all that is going on there.
