well Kurdish is has some european roots , so no wonder, but if these words are not sceintificaly related to each other, still intresting , we can collect a lot of words, it can help forigens to learn kurdish easiter and make look easier for them. :D I myself enjoy to find such realtions

Britton is an indo European language too, so resemblances are normal.

In French we have deux = du (same pronunciation), quatre (katr) /çar , six (sees) /ses, , neuf /neh, and dix (dees) deh.

dent : dran

nouveau = nû, (new in English)

qui : kî (same pronunciation
que : ku (same pronunciation)

donner / dan


But there are more common words with english :

star/stêr
stabble / stewl, for example.

Well, there is also considerable French influence in Farsi. Wouldn't doubt if any of those words crossed over to Kurdish.


Anyways, here is an interesting one...

The French word for young, "Jeune", is "Ciwan" or "Jiwan" in Kurdish.

New = Nu = Nevez in Breton


And how do you say Brother in Kurdish? Birader? It's Breur in Breton...

In Kurdish : Tu (for Tu çawan î ?) in French : Tu (but we say Tü)

We say "Chok"... For Knee I mean...

I never heard of "Ejnû" before... But sounds like Kurdish for "elbow" - "Enîsh" and "Enîshk".

Ejnû is in the Bedir Xan's gramamr and in the Baran Rizgarî 's dictionnary. I know that çok exists, but the first word I learned is ejnû. And in Western Western Kurdistan, ppl says ejnû.

Water in French is L'eau, right Piling?

And in Soranî, it is Aw. Sound similar when you say them :roll:

Yeah it comes from the Latin aqua (akwa), transforming as something like awa, aw, and then eau ( just sounding "O" in French).
