omitting problem in some kurdish words...

PostAuthor: Utopia » Wed Jul 05, 2006 2:02 pm

In kurdish there are some words which one of the vowels in some readings is omitted. for example;

silav(silaw)--------->slav or slaw(i prefer slav or silav because we dont pronounce last letter as "W" (like in Word,World in eng) but it is pronounced as "V" (Vein,Veil in eng))

bira------->bra
etc..

is there a standardized form for these words? which use is better?
i do not have a signature. i want to use my fingerprint. is it possible?

the Kurdish "i" is so light and quickly saying that it could be omitted (as in soranî). There are variation of spelling for certain words, like "bra". But in general we write it.

"v" is different from "w", but as for sorani speakers, i noticed "silaw" or "slaw" is much more used than silav..
n as for "i", as piling said, this letter is ommited in sorani!
