even to make the turkish people think anatolia belongs to turks for more than 1000 years, we learn "sumerians were old nomadic turkish clans who migrated to anatolia before 6000-7000 years, so we understand that we are not the raiders or invaders, ANATOLIA belongs to turks since the big bang"its ataturk's stuff.. he wanted to make his poor people be proud of their past and think like a great civilization..
"Turk! Be Proud! Work! Trust!" it's a motto of ataturk, writes every public places, and especially schools..
for fun people -Kurds, leftist, communist- joke with it :
"(Turk!)What? (Be Proud!) For What? (Work!)Unemployment??(Trust!)Whom? Regime?"![]()
so it's normal due to my turkic educated brain..even i used to think that im and my people are mountain turks and there is no such as kurds, kurdish till im 19

How did they teach you about Rumi then, bira? I mean..he was one of the most famous Sufi poets - did they call him Turk?

It is not ottoman related. Ottomans were not ruling konya at the Mevlana times.Yes Mevlevis or whirling Sufis are Osmon but Sufis in general were and are found all over middle east.
Half true, Sufis are generaly foundl at middle asia and anatolia. Neither persia nor arabic lands. I am sure there were some sufist at there, but main bulk has no relation with persia(Iran is another issue) or arabic lands.sorry parsi.. but u dont know about turkish regime and its education..
Realy my friend, If you dont educate yourself enough, dont accuse Turkish regime. Turkish regime dont say, Mevlana is ottoman thing or there are suffis only at anatolia. You have no idea about what are you talking.so it's normal due to my turkic educated brain..
Problem is not your turkish educated brain, but your un-educated brain about sufist and mevlevis.even i used to think that im and my people are mountain turks and there is no such as kurds, kurdish till im 19
Absurd, I am educated at Turkey too, and I always know, Kurds are different than Turks. It looks like you talked grey wolfs much. How did they teach you about Rumi then, bira? I mean..he was one of the most famous Sufi poets - did they call him Turk?
They teach him as a Turkish culture, and It is absolutely true. He lived with Turks, he effected them and affected from them. His ideas are shaped at anatolia, not persia. If there were not Turks, you wont even aware of him.
When It comes to his race, It is generally unknown. Most probably persian, but not 100% true.
