One Comment - Turkey In Pictures

A place to talk about domestic politics in Middle East (Iran, Iraq , Turkey, Syria) Also includes topics about Assyrian, Armenian, Chaldean .

PostAuthor: Diri » Wed Aug 16, 2006 4:14 pm

Oh - and the pictures are like that - because I was walking and taking pictures at the same time...

You know why? Why I didn't stop and take a picture - WITH FLASH? Because there were POLICE who were standing there - and this one guy was caught taking pictures - and they firmly told him to "NOT TAKE PICTURES OF THEM" - because as a state-institution, the police has the assignment to protect Turkeys image in the world by not letting people see "bad things" (in accordance with Turkish Kemalist ideology) from Turkey...

So if the world sees pictures of Turks sitting praying in the Central Metro Station: Kizilay - they would think Turkey is islamist... And that is not what the generals would like people to think - Kemalism dictates that "Turkey is a SECULAR republic of Turks"... So seeing Turks praying in a METRO STATION or on the MAIN SHOPPING STREET - would mean that "secularism" is only in state name... Not in Turkish culture...

Anyway... You idiots who need more words can try finding them in books about Turkey and perhaps even a trip to Turkey - and see with your own eyes...

Who gives a damn what Zurderer and Zurderer II thinks anyway - both have a realy shameful record of posts - one claiming Kurds first entered Anatolia with the Turks in 1000 AD... While the other is a self-claimed Kurd - who acts, walks and talks like a Turkish islamist...

Diri wrote:And you "Kurd" - you are definetly just another Zurderer in disguise... Who do you think you are fooling? Your record of posts only implies one thing: Oppertunistic Turk in "Kurd" disguise...

Moron - the point was that the CHADOOR - known as "Cadir" by Turks - was BANNED in Turkey not too long ago...

TURKEY IS ISLAMIZING - the Prime Minister is an Islamist - and that reflects the wish of the people too: ISLAMISM IS GROWING...

"Kurd" (In e.g. "Zurderer II") - that may be hard for you, an ignorant Turk, to grasp... So don't bust your brains trying to figure it out...

Exactly where did I insult you? Do you have to call people who discuss with you with certain names?

It proves you're a hardheaded person with no respect for others.

Learn to respect people, ez ji te bashter Kurdi dizanim. Turkê kurê Turkan ti'i

Oh - well I guess you were in a tourist city? :)

Where did you go Shevin? Alanya or Marmaris - or somewhere else?

Yeah - the beggars are so sad... I always give them something, unless I can see that they are faking it... Because sometimes, they do try to trick you... Make you believe they are crippled or something else... :(

The praying on the streets - is typical in Ankara and other large cities... If you ever go to Ankara's Metro station - Kizilay station - you will see them there for Friday noon prayer...

@ "Kurd"
If you're such a good Turk, "Kurd" - why the hell do you defend and agree with a TURK who obviously nobody else agreed with? If this TURK was so RIGHT about what he said - I am sure MANY MORE people would agree with him... But when you simply say "I totally agree with zurderer." - and zurderer has said a lot of shit - your words will also equal shit...

And who is name-calling? You are the one asking me to "get off the crack"...

You are messed up... Somebody has been messing around in your brain - you are defending a TURK against a KURD... I would have understood you if that TURK was saying something SMART - but THIS TURK - only made stupid remarks...
Which you "totally agree with"... So then you are TOTALLY an @§§ for that... It's quite logical when you think about it... Agreeing with shit, makes you shit...

Oh... I see... Then you were in Kurdistan... North Kurdistan... There are many beggars in the cities there yes - especially Amed (Diyarbakir) - because the majority of the inhabitants of Amed are those who the Turkish army burnt down their villages and threw them off their land... So they had nowhere to go - and went to the cities - Amed is one of them... Sad story...

Did you walk around in Amed? =) It's a beautiful place...

Well - I am not much of a tourist either... But I have relatives in Ankara and Istanbul... :) So I visite them now and then...

Well - you had it coming... You PISSED ME OFF!!! You don't say anything about any of the other pictures - only come out of NOWHERE (when were you last active anyway? ) and tell me that this IDIOT called ZURDERER - who is the guy insisting that "Kurds and Turks came to Anatolia together" - and that Kurds had never been around before that time - and you tell me that "I TOTALLY AGREE WITH ZURDERER" - GOD WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

So naturally I was pissed... And I still am pissed... Û dibît ewelen TU qedrê MIN bigrî - look at your initial post on this thread - where you tell me to "man, you really need to get off the crack or whatever you use." - How damn rude isn't that? I mean I have nothing against you - and then you suddenly make personal attacks... YOU are the one who should step up and appologise...

I have nothing against you or anybody else here... But when you act RUDE in the first place - don't pretend like nothing happened...

I was most pissed because of that rude remark - and also because you said you "totally agree with Zurderer" - and if you read his remarks (I doubt you have) - you'll have to tell me again that you "totally agree with Zurderer" - because I stand by what I said: agreeing with shit, makes you shit... Maybe you should scroll back and read what he actually has said - and see if you agree with every little thing he said...

Come on,Diri just want to show Turkey is not so so beautiful even for Ankara and Istanbul, people should see this pics who see Antalya,Bodrum, this is just more pics about Turkey. And at first,i can say it is a quick job,it is not best job about Turkey. But,yes, mosque pics and muslim wears are sims like exaggerated and there is no heaven country or city in the world but so many mosques women wear fully closed muslim wears(dont know name in english);this are discuss and teasing topics in Turkey.Building a mosque is more important than building school.

This are important things to have an idea about Turkey.Turkey with high effort;ohh sorry look at the pics where is the effort??

Kurd you are showing good points. But,should learn to respect Diri's work, look are Turks doing what you do?I am against accusing a Kurd in this way.You should realise your mistake.Being united is so important. You could warn in another way.:) .But Kurd against Kurds who trying to do something. Why you didnt take pics Kurd?

I am totaly disagree with people who say Kurdistan is not developed.Yes,because no way for it,this words make me crazy,it is under occupation,What the hell you want?and for centuries.Which occupation brings heaven to you.Even Ottoman or something else before.Turkey's occupation is not best.Look a barrage will destroy Hassankeyf started to built this week and Kurds like ... served for Turks there.Kurdistan goes worse day by day this is an occupied and one occupied territory for one country of course there is poor people, undeucated people after all superhuman efforts. We should do better, not talk like that, against huge Turk,Persian,Arab world yes we should accuse each other

Ok, I see you are now discussing somewhat better. What I wanted to say is that you are acting like Islam is an attack. You seem to have an aversion on islam, but you have to know that you have to respect people's beliefs. Of course, it's up to you if you are unreligious, but at least be aware there are peoples (many kurds) that are Muslim.
I totally agree with zurderer in this topic, if he said that Kurds and Turks came together to Anatolia, then he can kiss my ass too! But I think he is a bit right on your accusations. Mescids are found in many places in Turkey, near many places there are certain areas for praying. Islamic countries are not like Europe my friend.

Kurd, bro,Turkey to be prood of being so democratic and laicist(even against islam) if it wants and Turkey be a fanatic islamist if they want. That is what Diri wants to show this is stupid and unacceptable and Diri want to show that else we are not discussing islam.Just pointing crazy Turks. We are honoured being from Selahaddin's ancestry.

Everyone will be happy a good non Arabic or non Turkish style islam and everyone should respect every religion in Kurdistan.Islam is in our culture. And not bad thing, everyone is free for choosing their belief. But honestly,i dont like Islam in Turkey or in middle-east and i know lots of muslim country even made war, when we discuss Turkey under islam name is this a sin or crime?

We believe in Islam,it doesnt mean we cant discuss Turkey's state.I hope same things wont be in Southern Kurdistan because it is not nice. There is lots of good Kurds believe in Islam,i am proud of that, this are not same things. How many times this topic needed to be discussed??How many times countries believe in Islam fought each other and when was the last?talking about just a stupid war,not for a free country.Kurds care religion,i hope there will be respect for all Kurds and religions in Kurdistan and there will be nice,clever,humanist... Kurds believe in Islam. But things are not same,Kurd we are discussing Kurds,Kurdistan in fact
