ALL things in the Quran MUST be seen in CONTEXT - not just as SEPARATE statements...

ISLAM doesn't condone oppression of females... Islam says: Men and Women are created differently - and gifted differently...

Just look at our physics - Men and Women aren't even the same physically: naturally they are also different on the inside (logic/mentality) - so there must be different guidlines for the two sexes... That is just natural...

I do not however accept all the Hadiths - as the Quran itself has said: THIS IS THE LAST HADITH - and writing new "Hadiths" means going against Gods will - so no... I don't believe all of them - only those which are consistent with the teachings of the Quran...

And besides - Islam is in your heart... Doesn't need to be on your clothes, face or your toungue... It is in your soul...

Well Quran has clear laws to how treat men or women, and Quran by itself several times says this book (Quran) has come to you in a very clear text, and no need for interpretion!
Besides the difference of men and women is just in some body organs, but in no way women have less brain or mentality or such nonsense than men. This is our biased society in which girls grow up as second class humans. I mean our society is responsible for why women grow up as weaker than men, but women by nature are the same as men are.

What you say is like Turkish and Kurdish equality issue in Turkey!

Men and women are the same except from a physiologiacl point of view (i.e. one being male ther being female), but religion discriminates between them, making one of them (the male) as first class or master, and the other one (the female) as second class or slave.

When I said: They are EQUAL it means: They are worth as much...

When I said: They are not SAME it means: They are not physically the same...

When I say they are DIFFERENT: I mean they have different gifts... Women are not as rational as men... You can't fight against science... Science says: "Men and Women are different - with different abilities and qualities"...

It's a fact...

And every individual is different too...

There are women who fit jobs that men do - and there are men who fit jobs that women do...

Let's not judge religon... First of all that is the same in ALL religion... And People do the mistakes... Not religion... People are wrong... Not religion...

Judaism and Christianity say the same about that: Women and Men are different... BUT - Islam says they are EQUAL even if they are different... Judaism and Christianity don't say that they are EQUAL...

Well, I've never seen a scientific evidence that says men and women are different in mentality, and that women have less brain than men have. That's a rumor made by religious and traditional ones... the point is here.
Besides religion is not a science phenomenon; it is even against science in most cases.

GOD GUDEA! HOW HARD IS IT TO MAKE YOU UNDERSTAND!

"MEN AND WOMEN ARE EQUAL" = "THEY ARE WORTH THE SAME" = "NONE OF THE TWO IS MORE STUPID OR UN-INTELLIGENT THAN THE OTHER"

Is that clear enough for you?

Please stop spreading lies about religion... No religion says "Women are more stupid than men"

I am gonna tell you of a concept - which is the same concept which I told you about befriending Assyrians:

As enemies they will harm you...

But if you befriend them - and neutralize them... You won't see much harm from them... As they would feel obliged to say and act good in your presence... Since you are to them a "good" person and act good to them...

Okey? It is actually fabulous and brilliant advice... Seems if you don't take it - you'll have many religous people acting hostile towards you...

If not befriending, you can at least show them respect and be as respectful with them as you want them to be with you... It won't hurt you... On the contrary...

I'm glad that this time you agreed that men and women are by mentality equal and thus should be equal before the law too.
Well, religion does not say directly that women are stupid or have less brain than men have but indirectly and at the same time more obvious it says women are stupid; examples are, ''Two women witness are equal to one man witness''!!! how you can explain that? are women liars? or stupid? or ignorant or what? It's clear that it is an obvious insult against women. or also by giving the right to men to have as much as women they like, 2,3,4 but not rcognizing such a right for women!, or hundreds other nonsense like this.
Also I don't care how some Al-Qaida or Ansar al-islam or Hizbollahi supporters think about me. I have no tendency to befriend them as I see them as enemies of humanity.
finally, I'm not against Syriacs/Assyrians/Arameans/Chaldeans as a people. but at the same time don't thank ulta-nationalists of them for the hatred they are spreading against their neighbours such as their real ally the Kurds; but I try to reply them by what I think is truth and logic.
I write my oponions not seeking befriending my enemies. A true and real befriending can be achieved through understanding eachother not ignoring facts and having a misconception about one another...

wow! do you two need some rocks to throw at eachothers? hhehehhe, kidding..

dear Gudea, sis *i assume that ur a female
i totally get where u coming from, but may i ask a personal question?
u dont have to answer tho.. are you religious?

if yes, and if Muslim, then i cant say anything, cuz probably you know more than me about islam n what does the book say! but then again, from what i've HEARD, "Women and Men ARE EQUEL in Islam" <<-- true Islam i guess! :|

if no, then why do you care about what book says? i mean, it all depends on the person herself/himself to make peaople to respect her n take her as "first class" as u pointed out! in my view there isnt sucha thing called fisrt class or second.. we'r all equal.. n thats the same for female, male or even a kid.. everyones got a value but God knows..

I only trust two people in my life, One is myself, and the other one is NOT you!

some notes about shia.
they use this self - beating as a tool to hate sunnies and other ppl .
i remember a shia who was son of commander of army in Kurdistan told me once... "you Kurds deserve to be killed ALL !!! because you behaded Imam hossein"
I said , me ? did I behade imam hosseyn ? he answered yeah you Sunnniess !!!

when they beat themselves they fulll themselves with a Hate , with a negative energy ... which later is used by their Leaders to do their Orders ... then they can easily kill thousands of Kurds...because they are Sunni... and Sunnis had behaded Imam Hossein...so dont feel Pitty for them !!!

so don think this self beating is just a a stupid thing,,,it is their strategy of brainwashing !
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then YOU WIN !

They don't hurt themselves. They want the reach the point where all these knifes don't wound them. They haven't had the right to bleed. And they don't do it because they feel guilty, as for Shiites.
