And you said it wasn't Kurdish? - right?

Nûr is a very famliar Kurdih name... Arabs use a tvarted version... but yours is one which has been westernized... hmmm... But it is the same as the Kurdish "Nûr" "Nur" or "Nor"... depending on how you wanna pronounce it...

I don't have a Kurdish name (for obvious reasons!), so I've borrowed this one!

My real name is Cathy and means PURE... most appropriate

Really? I didn't know there was more than one Kurdish name that meant highlander, music AND is a kurdish region. Why don't you tell me some?

Well, I was making it a guessing game but since you give up so easily... My name is Goran

Heval

Hey! I knew that - your name has been meantioned quite often... Well... I like your name, GORAN - its a beautifull name! But in my dialect we don't call highlanders Goran... but we do call songs Gorani...and yes -it IS a Kurdish region... :D Sorry - my bad :D

why do you always say everybody has been assimilated? and yet you defend ibrahim tatlises I don't see how taking a part in german society and making the best of it and making its way through this society is being assimilated... he's still german / turkish, there's no assimilation there... you say I got my facts wrong, but you don't even know mehmet scholl, so how can you know better than me?? so the only kurds / turks who don't get assimilated are the ones who end up in the street and don't take part in the "assimilated" german society??

I'm proud of this guy, because he managed to make it big in germany despite all the racism and discrimination he has had to face, like we all have to face everyday.

Dude - when I say you ain't got your facts right... I MEAN it - Do you know the definition of "assimilation"???

It's when a person from one culture is put into another culture - He/she then (in order to be assimilated) must give away his culture to live according to norms and cultural standards of the new culture... And SO HE/SHE IS ASSIMILATED...

TO INTEGRATE: WHen a person enters a new society and must live according to the new culture... BUT HE/SHE does NOT give away his/her old culture... in fact they try to blend the two cultures and so therefor are NOT living by ONE culture - the new one.. but also by their OWN culture...

Did you get that? Or do you want me to go in detail.. or make it a bit easier to understand? just tell ma pall - I'll do my best...
This man you speak of - he was adopted - so he has no idea what turkish culture/kurdish culture is... and therefore does NOT live by two cultures... He live entirely by the German culture... Because that has been ALL he has known... His mother...

But anyway...
