Saddam was an atheist. Baath ideology is anti-religious. It is only after he attacked Iran in 1988 that he pretend to be a good Sunni against bad Shiites. But quarrels between muslims movements are not based on dogma but on politics. You are a muslim if you believe that :

- There is only one God.
- Muhammad is his prophet (and the last one).
- Quran is God's revelation.

That's all. Then Shi'as and Sunnis are muslims. They just fight each others since the beginning for political powers, the question of Caliphat, and the control of Mecca, and now the control of oil and resources in the Middle-East.

So they do fight amongst themselves, just as Christians do! I see it here all the time. Kurdish Muslims fighting with Pakistani Muslims. They kill each other. In fact my daughter was caught up, innocently in one of their conflicts, where a man was stabbed and had his throat cut, arms nearly cut off, and other injuries. Thankfully she knew what to do in that kind of emergency, and saved his life! But it could just as easily have been HER who got the slashings!!!! There is more HATE and racism between themselves here where I live, than the English people have for them! And I say that because England is known to be a racist country!!

Anyway, I'm out of here for at least a while. I can't have a serious debate where conjecture and tradition are the only "valid facts" presented. It's a complete waste of time.

In general it is a complete waste of time to have discuss between religious ppl concerning their dogma. For each of them is persuaded to have the Right and Divine version of Truth.

In the 9th century, in Baghdad, there was a place called the House of Wisdom, where Jewish, Christan and Muslim philosophers went to debate about philosophy, metaphysic, logi, rhetoric, etc. One of the rule was to never have argument like "God told it", or "my Sacred Book told it then it is true", for these skilfull and wise ppl knew that when religious dogma entered in a debate, there is no possible debate anymore, no rational, logical thinking.

Then of course you are sure to have right, and you come to explain your view to ppl who are sure you're wrong because they're right, etc. Of course a waste of time.

And if you are an agnostic like I am, everybody, atheist and believers tried to persuade me that I am wrong because I have not still the true revelation of the key of the world... But being an agnostic has its advantage : there is no dogma.

I don't mean to be rude but is it normal to wake people up on saturdays at 7.30 am wanting to talk about Jehova and distributing the Watchtower magazine? Or is that only in Germany.

If I'm honest thats what Jehovah's witnesses are known for here in Germany.
What if tomorrow never comes and you don't know how I feel?

Actually - I am not sure, but I think those are the ones who wish to disrupt the Jehovah's Witness - and who make false testimonies in their name...

Right Lorri?

Yes, they are the disfellowshipped apostates who try to cause trouble for them.

I don't have problems with Christians but I don't like Jehowa's Witnesses because they are so weird. They always have tried to convert me into their religion in Germany and also here in the USA. I have no idea how they find me and why they strongly try to convince me. Nobody likes them even Christians don't like them. In my opinion, Mormons and Jehowa's Witnesses are not real Christians. Once there was this Jehowa group I met them at Starbucks and one guy said Jesus is watching us he is everywhere even here in Starbucks. I mean this is ridicilous he can't prove it.

My tipp: If you meet a Jehowa's Witness next time don't fu..... tell them that you are an atheist or agnostic tell them that you are a Catholic or a Muslim and that that is the right religion!!! They'll leave you :D
