its already much tense between turks and greeks in cyprus.. I think
If the Cypriot Turks are Secular and the Turkey it self is divided between its secular Turks (which we will side with) and Islamic Turks, then who do you think they are going to side with?
Also the Cypriot Turks look up to their Turkish brothers. If we were to help the Turks and Greeks of Cyprus embrass a new identity that makes them unique compare to their corresponding mother countries, then it would look better on them both working together and in our favor if we were the ones to help bridge the gap. You have to look at things in a combination of optimistic and realism in order to succeed in life. I am doing that right now.
Anyways since it was the Kurds rather than the Anatolian Turks that help bring peace to Cyprus for both Cypriot people that it would morally, logically, and ethnically wrong for the Cypriot Turks to turn against the Kurds, when the Anatolians have done nothing for them.
I would definitely say that the Greeks of Cyprus need to make their country unique unless they want to become a part of Greece rather than an independent state.
Certainly if Cyprus was to mix its Turkish and Greek nature, it would certainly stand out from becoming a part of Greece or Turkey, which would allow it to remain independent from the two. If the Cypriots really want to be independent from the Greeks and Turks then they should consider this idea. Eventually Cyprus's Greek and Turkish tongues should mix and become a whole different and seperate language.
What I am really saying is that why not break down these boarders between Turk and Greek Cypriots and start co-existing as one people. Have both Greek and Turk to be their official languages and start mating together to have some unique people.
