Peshmerga Minister, Shek Ja'far, calls on any request from Baghdad to hand them over heavy weaponry, a "dream", and says that yet a lot issues remain unsolved.

Shek Ja'ar told the Kurdish agency (Sbeiy): "if Iraqi Govt , officially make such requests, it will just be ignored, because a lot of issues remain outstanding between us".

"we use those heavy weaponries to protect the people of Kurdistan , and even if they asked formally , we will just ignore it". he added.

The Mi8 helicopter picture you posted is

a Mi-8MTV1 type.
It was built in 1983 in Kazan Soviet Union
Then operated in the 1990s by Ukrainian Cargo Airways
It was owned second hand by Scorpion Air Ltd in 2001 in Madrid Spain
Then bought by Skylink Aviation in 2003
In 2004 Valan international cargo charter (Moldovan company) bought it from skylink. (I think during this period it operated in Kurdistan as a charter helicopter)
In 2007 it was used by AMIS (African Union Mission In Sudan)
In 2008 it returned to Valan International Cargo Charter in Moldova.

By this time its been operating for 25 years. I am not sure if its still certified air worty any more. This is the last picture for this helicopter.

The Mi8 helicopter picture you posted is

thanks for that , my point was Peshemrga uses lots of stuff we do not know about . and this one you posted looks rather in bad shape as compared to the one Peshemrga is using which seems to be restored and probably upgraded.

same yes but looks newer than the ones you posted , maybe just paint work , or updated engine , who knows.

this iraqi heli came to Sulaimani today , you guys should read the comments on fb , i would like to use one "oh it was so loud man that thing was old , i could have dropped it with a sling shot"
it was carrying Allawi , he went to see Goran leader today

KRG sometime request helicopters from Baghdad for security motives, especially when there's foreign press or VIP's visiting.

High Kuwaiti delegation visited Iraq's president in Sulymania, I assume this is the reason for the helicopter.
