Are that M1 Abraham tanks? I see some 'canons', but some of them don't have canons. Are those ones armoured vehicles?

the first picture is M1`s. i think the ones with "no cannon" is looking in the opisite direction, making them "look away" from the camera, and therefore the cannon is not visible on the picture. ;)

that is a US facility in Erbil , the facility is still there , yes not operational , it is possible the Americans donated all of these to Peshmerga for their well known help and gratitude to the Americans since unlike the arabs we did not even kill a single US soldier in Kurdistan .

the photos were taken in July 2011 , when the US forces "had already begun" pulling out , so yes it is likely they were left behind for KRG , and i remember Erdogan was crying about it and asked the Americans not to , but i see he was ignored . shaytan reckons they were take back thru turkey but i never saw anything on our tvs showing or confirming his claim , since such a massive convoy would be passing thru Kurdistan and rest assured, kids , tv channels
and media reporters would have been on them taking pictures , videos or would have made at least 1 article about it ;).

anyone here going back soon ? if you do make sure you take some pictures of them for us..

it would be interesting to know , what US weapons were actually left to Peshmerga , it's not IF they did! , its WHAT and HOW many .

but if these M1s . M88 and Bradleys at that facility in ERBIL are left to Peshmerga then , it is quite good, and Peshemrga can make them operational EASYLY.

even if we have them it would take quite some time (And money) to make them operational again. :(
we must take in picture the cost and/or availability and condition of spare parts, the available funding for the preventative maintenance budget, and the quantity and skill of the personnel (Which we don`t have, and must "loan" from US for moeny) responsible for maintaining those vehicles.
and since the M1A1 is a very advanced tank,it would be very very expensive.

It could be possible. 1991-2012 is 21 years. There are many Kurds, 40 million. Many Kurds have big companies and donate to Kurdish parties (especially during the 80's and 90's). Barzani alone got aprox. 7 billion dollars (private money).

Look: US makes 15 trillion a year. In 21 years it would be around 300 trillion (sometimes lower, sometimes higher).
The average population of the USA between 1991-2012 is probably around 275 million. This means areound $54000 per US citizen per year.

Let's say KRG has 1 trillion savings (1000 billion). This would mean that they've 'saved' 47 billion per year since 1991. And that's not only from KRG budget, but also smuggling (a lot of money was earned by that), donations, work, etc. 47 billion per year is not unrealistic. Iraq has a budget of 120 billion per year, and that's after all the shit it's been through. Most countries have easily around 1000 billion per year, while the population is not that big. I don't think it is unrealistic for a country like Kurdistan, especially with all the natural resources in SK :).

And I am sure there are lots of governments and people who are not persé Kurdish that have helped us financially. I'm referring to a people which are known for being extremely, abnormal rich, if you know what I mean ;).
