Arab league afraid of Kurdistan, why not a KURDISH league

As you can readhere The Arab league is afraid of federalism and especially Kurds. I wonder why this baathists, racist and pan-Arabic organisation still exist. But why don't the Kurds start their own Kurdish league?

I don't think that you have the best of grasps on what the Arab League is about. Iraq has not been a key player in the Arab League for over a decade. The Arab League is not worried about a Federal Iraq because they would be losing a key player, the Arab League doesn't want a Federal Iraq because of the possiblity of a sovereign nation breaking apart along ethnic and religious lines. If one Arab country fractures many others could possibly fracture along those same lines. The Arab League is not interested in protecting their people, they are not interested in a Pan-Arab ideals, the Arab League is only out to perserve their own priviledged lifestyles.

The Arab League is not united, and never has been on any issue that has any impact on the region. If you want to unite the Kurds, choose another group to model them upon because any sembelnce to the Arab League would be a disaster.

I would also like to see further clarification on what EXACTLY the head of the Arab League said. By all accounts of what I have read on Amr Mussa's comments (BBC, The Kuwaiti News Agency, and the Gulf Arab Daily, to name a few) on the current situation is that he has been asking for further clarification on what the Iraqis are entending the definition of what the "Iraqi People" are classified as: Arabs, Sunni, Shia, Kurds, etc. NOT that he is afraid of a federal Iraq.

Therefore he is afraid of federalism.
